As good as it gets - Since Oregon discontinued the better steel versions
My particular machine that uses this blade is a Hustler Raptor XD with a 54" deck.I have a very nice Magnamatic blade sharpener and balancer set up, used originally for my other Hustler machine that is of commercial grade. The far better design of the commercial type mower educated me over the years, to include the design and construction of mower blades. Particularly the huge difference in them is noted in sharpening them, especially when it comes to the steel used in making them.I ran Oregon "fusion" steel blades on my commercial grade mower. "exclusively". Whether you want a high-lift "sail", a "mulcher", or "Gator" blade design, The extreme difference in quality is obvious when you any Oregon fusion blade in your hand - or sharpen them on the wheel.Oregon makes many of the "proprietary branded" (commercial-grade) mower blades for the major players, allowing them the re-branding, re-numbering - and of course - price increase privileges of the blades. But in general, Oregon also offered their own form-fit cross-referenced blades, (sold at a lower price) to those who were interested in buying them directly from Oregon's catalog. When I bought my (residential-grade) "Raptor" - its OEM blades were not the fusion steel blades that are offered on the Hustler "commercial" machines. They were instantly recognized as inferior by their lighter weight, and would also certainly prove so by the shorter longevity of the cutting edges holding their sharpness in service. So I "thought" I would simply cross reference them to an Oregon fusion steel blade - either standard high lift or even the "testosterone-boosted" models - the "Gator Blades". I have done this MANY times - for myself, friends, and clients that I sharpen blades for each season. But not this time.Oregon evidently has discontinued making their Fusion steel blades that fit many residential-grade machines. They no longer make the G3/G5/G6 "Gators" for the Raptors either. I don't know if their heavier blades were suspected of being too much wear on the blade clutch/servos - or if some sales contract politics are involved. Either way - it sent me on a lengthy hunt and substantial research effort, trying desperately to come up with a comparable replacement. The short answer is - There are NONE. No other manufacturer makes a blade to rival the steel on those Oregon blades. There is nothing even close. The shapes, lift, design, and other blade attributes in general may be very similar - (as far as cutting the grass, tossing it up, and then either passing it out to discharge or making it into powder for a mulcher deck)........sure, most aftermarket clones will do that fairly well. And these Gator-TYPE blades that I am reviewing now are the best I have found "myself" - to date. These blades fit well, work with my mulching deck baffles perfectly, and they sharpen up and hold their edge.......well, better than - or as good as - any others, (EXCEPT you-know-who's). The pricing on them is far better than OEM, and you can run them whether your deck is set up for mulching or standard discharge - they will work just as well as most OEM high-lift blades offered, (on residential-grade machines).I bought 2 sets of these and have a third set of another sellers, (that I also bought in "the hunt").I can recommend these without reservation. You will be satisfied with them.

Length isn't what is described
The description says these blades are 18 1/2". When I measure them they are 18 3/8". Don't know if this will make a big difference but add up 3 blades and that's a lot under a mowing deck. Other that that the quality looks good.

Blades fit my 2015 Hustler Fastrak SD
I have a 2015 Hustler Fastrak SD these blades went onto. The blades are not the easiest to get to on this model, but these blades fit perfectly and mowed well on the first outing.I have lots of rocks lying in wait to eat my blades in several places of the approximately 3 acres I mow. I mow for about 2 hours each outing and I have several boulder tops that sit just below the grass line and I forget they are there until my blades are grinding against the surface, there are several spots where the ground has some bumps that get leveled off by my blades, and several uneven gravel patches that are slowly being leveled with, you guessed it, my mower blades.I think these blades are holding up to my very rough use. These photos were after about 6 hours of mowing with frequent rock encounters. The blades sharpened up very nicely with my 40 grit zirconia flap disk.I am not sure what kind of steel these blades are made of, but so far they are holding up for me.Zirconia flap disk: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQN6U4

Cuts Nice
I've only cut with them 3 times but they are cutting nice and clean every time. I haven't noticed a need to slow down that other reviews mention. For the $ I am very pleased with these blades so far. Get you a set. I dont think you will be disappointed..

Advertise what you sell and sell what advertise!
I thought they were supposed to be 18 1/2 inches long, not 18 7/16. It doesn't sound like much, but curious if they will leave some blades of grass as they wear a little. I checked with 2 different tape measures. I just got them today and haven't used them yet. I'll put them on tomorrow and see how they hold up. I think some Quality assurance should make sure they are sent out the way they are advertised at 18 1/2 inches long. Trying to save a few pennys is not worth supplying substandard product.
