Terrific value
I got the free assembly which turned out to be a great thing. A guy in a van showed up at my garage and put everything together. Something was out of true from the shipping and the guy torqued it back into true. I've ridden several times a week for about 4 months and it's a real joy. The components shift and stop with precision, riding position is comfortable for this over 60 body. Plus, it's a work of art.

Mostly great
Pretty much put together when arrived, just a couple of easy things to do. The bolts already had lubricant ready. One thing I didn't like was that the bike post doesn't go all the way down because of the bolts to put a water bottle holder. Very pretty overall

Awesome bike, great purchase!
I shopped around for bikes for about a week before making a purchase. All of the shops I went to gave me a list of the features the bike I wanted should have as a daily work commuter in Chicago. They kept showing me their bikes, which were in the $700 to $900 range, and seemed fine. I then looked at lists of the top ten commuter/hybrid bikes, and this bike kept showing up. Plus, it had all of the features the guys at the bike shops told me about. I got the bike for $550, then spent $100 for accessories, and still saved money! I have been riding for a month, and I couldn't be happier. I even had it shipped to a local shop where they put it together for free!

Not What I Expected
I really, really, really wanted to like this bike based on other reviews and my research. However, my overall experience wasn't a positive one, though I have been optimistic. I, as many others, researched many bikes and decided on buying the Tommaso La Forma bike. The bike was delivered, left on my front door steps, but noticed the box was opened. I went ahead removed the bike from the box and confirmed all components were there and nothing was missing. However, I did notice a gouge of paint missing from the front forks. I called Giant and they sent me some touch up paint at no charge. I took the bike into a professional shop for assembly and tuning. I brought the bike home, rode it around my neighborhood, noticed the gears/chain were slipping until I could not pedal no more. The chain broke, and I had to walk the bike home, about a mile away from my house. I contacted Giant again and they sent out a new chain at nor charge. I had the chain replaced, but I believe the gears need to be adjusted since it's slipping and I'm afraid I may break the chain again. My local bike shop will charge another fee to adjust the gears since I did not buy the bike at their shop, so I'm out another $85. In comparison, I bought my wife a bike from a large club membership store for much less that what I purchased the Tommaso La Forma, assembled it myself and have had absolutely no issues with the bike.

Fantastic bike!
My previous bike was a mongoose ledge...around $200, but rugged and heavy. Since i primarily ride on the street, i wanted something a bit lighter/faster. This totally fits the bill. The bike arrived nearly fully assembled. Just had to turn the front fork around, install the front wheel (quick release, so no biggie), handlebar and seat, then pumped up the tires.Once assembled, i took it out for a spin. A few adjustments to the shifter/brake placement on the handlebars, and it was good to go. Gears shifted flawlessly, brakes were adjusted beautifully. This thing is a real pleasure to ride! There are a few nice extra little touches...the bike has mounts for two water bottles, and rear cargo rack...pre-drilled, with the hex nuts. It also came with a small tube of black touch-up paint, and the invoice had a hand-written/signed note from the person who did the assembly/tuning (thanks, Mike!).There is no kickstand, but i installed a Greenfield kickstand (285mm, black), and it fits perfectly...no hacksawing involved.Overall, i'm thrilled so far. I haven't had a bike this nice before, and i now know what i've been missing. I'm gonna be putting a LOT of miles on this badboy.

Pleased
Only had a couple rides so far , but I am impressed compared to my previous cycles. I am a novice for really serious biking and previously only had mountain bikes when I was younger. This bike is super light and feels very intuitive. After the gears are adjusted correctly it is really smooth and gives me a great experience.
