Different than prior in series but great plot twists
Really liked this book will keep plugging along with this series. I think the setup for future books at the end was very good.I still recommend this series even if I didn't like the trite US Navy vs local police plot points.

Books that moves along fast
Robert Dugoni wrote another thriller which includes interesting characters, northeast venues and weather along with illicit drugs, the military life and once again, Tracy Crosswhite’s life. The reader get to know Tracy even more and we see a softer side of her. She has come a long way. The men in this book vary from the doting, smart attorney husband to drug dealers and military personnel which add an interesting aspect to this book in the series.

Good… again!
I read a number of Robert Dugoni books before starting on this series. These are such good reads! Good characters. Good storylines. Just good!

intriguing
I like to pace myself when reading, but couldn’t do that with these last few chapters. I was intrigued and in suspense. I needed to know how it was going to play out.

Another great Tracy Crosswhite
Tracy does it again. When an unsolved hit and run ends up leading to a killer batch of heroin ......well just read the book.

Another twist and another turn
Another great book by this author. The characters are always great, but the storyline on this one had a few holes. I still didn't see the end result coming in the way that it did, but this one was a bit easier to solve than the books earlier in the series.

there were two separate cases until they became one
How does an author take two entirely different cases and somehow make them one? Robert Dugoni did this very effectively and quietly. What a great book!

Different pace, same intrigue
This book felt a lot different from previous ones in the series, mainly because the storyline, both main and subplot, were unconventional 'murders' - one was a hit & run, the other a heroin overdose... However, as with all of his novels, the twists and turns keep coming, there is no shortage of drama and the overlap between both deaths is skilfully done...I love the richness of the characters, they truly come alive in his writing and I'm hoping two of the newly introduced characters (Leah and Celia) will be regulars from now on - strong, interesting, intelligent women with intriguing backgrounds & sharp, witty personalities, similar to Tracy herself.I've said it before and I'll say it again, Dugoni has a real talent for writing about strong, interesting women without making them too intense or unrealistic - refreshing to read

Another Great Story
And.....another great story in this terrific series. There was only one of them I wasn't as keen on but I reckon everyone is entitled to one dud ! This one was a proper can't-put-it-down tale once it got going. I did begin to get a little bogged down with all the naval stuff and attendant legalities but, once past that it fair raced along. We get to meet a couple of new characters in this tale among our set of regulars alongside Tracy. I liked Leah a great deal, though the nickname of Lee baffled me a bit. I wasn't sure what joke I'd missed there......maybe it's a play on Bruce Lee ?? Hopefully someone can translate that for me. Celia is another terrific addition, too.....what a nice lady she is. We also spent more time with another of Tracy's colleagues for a change than we did with her. There were some very amusing moments here and there as well that I noted. However, being an older reader I needed to get on Google to translate some of the texting acronyms used here. One of them, KKUT, I couldn't figure at all, even looking there. There were a couple of sentences which I just thought were atrocious English in the way they were presented, which I just marked "Huh ?" in my Kindle notations...."Did you call the name of that therapist I left for you ?" and "I can tell you more later, when it's a little better time."I spotted the odd error-corn and not corned written when he got it right every other time it was written, the same for parent's as opposed to parents'-again, written correctly aside from just the once. He wrote flog where I'd have used flood, salute and not salut (which I'm sure I referred to in a prior review of one of his books) and I'd write rollercoaster as the one word but that's all for my nitpicky stuff. Loved the ending here and look forward to the series' continuation.

loved it
Once more, the author didn't disappoint me. I didn't want to put this book down. Drugs, and murder, it seemed as if Tracy was in a maze as she tried to find the right path to find out the truth about the hit and run driver. What secrets was he keeping? Why was he so sure he'd get away with killing the young boy? Who hid the evidence tape to help his case? This book had me on the edge of my seat. Well worth the 5 stars

great book
What an emotionally charged story of loss and courage. This book was hard to read on some levels but it was all encompassing too. Love this series and all these characters. Can’t wait to read and listen to the next book now. Great narration too.

Good crime romp……but
5th book in the series and I consider myself a Crosswhite fan. The story has the twists and turns I’ve come to expect from Mr Dugoni. But I didn’t find the story flow as smoothly as the previous books. Was a bit disappointed in the great reveal. I don’t want to put a spoiler in ,so not going to explain. Hasn’t stopped me purchasing next In series though.
