good flavor
Look reading the reviews I was expecting the devil's farts. I opened it and there's no smell. I dipped a spoon into the car for the faintest of dusting on the spoon and tasted it. It tasted wonderful. It's that egg flavor.It did not smell like sulphur (like a hot springs). When I cooked it my husband did complain the kitchen stunk, but it didn't bother me so much. I plan to add it to turmeric tofu scrambles and "Just egg" vegan egg to amp up the egg-iness. My egg allergic child was so happy to be able to taste what egg flavor is like.

My first time using this salt
It adds a Umami flavor to food which is needed in vegan cooking so I am glad to have it.

Better than I thought
Great in everything. I bought to try a nimbu pani recipe for hot weather. I have used it for more dishes than I thought I would. Smells eggy and the flavor is great.

Potential cross contamination - warning for celiac dx
My daughter reacted from this product. This is the second black salt I have purchased off of Amazon that I am stuck with due to false advertising as "gluten free" then receiving the bottle and discovering no labeling to reassure me and back up that claim. People sensitive to wheat or with a celiac diagnosis PLEASE TAKE CAUTION. My daughter had a celiac attack after ingesting this product.

Great product!
This made my tofu eggless salad the best! I shared some with a friend she is in love. Past reviews said it smelled awful. Not true and am sensitive to smells. It did not have a strong odor was packaged nicely and safety sealed which important to me. Great product!!

Fantasic for health and vegan recipes
I am very impressed with this black rock salt. I Love the flavor in many of my vegan recipes. Especially those that need a egg like flavor. This salt tastes great and is really good for you!

Vegans - missing a savory breakfast sandwich? Try this!
I’ve never tried kala namak salt before, so I have nothing to use as comparison. I’m vegan, and through my searches looking for a savory vegan breakfast sandwich, I’ve heard this salt recommended for the “egginess” flavor that could be used to season tofu or to make a sauce that resembles egg yolk. Sounds strange, but it really does make these plant-based foods have the hint of sulfur, so very similar to an egg. If you’re interested in making your way towards more plant-based eating, I think this could help ease the switch between omni to herbi. And for seasoned vegans, it’s a way to change things up a bit. Try it! You won’t be disappointed.
