Fire isn’t covered by homeowners’ insurance if the underlying cause is earthquake!
I feel so much better about having this installed! My folks live in ridgecrest where the recent earthquake hit. I have since contacted the homeowners’ insurance company and it is my understanding that even if the house burns down, if the original cause of the fire (broken gas line due to earthquake) was the earthquake, then the fire damage is NOT covered!!!! I am thankful we already work with a plumber who has done other work for us so it was easy to hire him to install. We put one on our house and on our rental. Feeling so grateful for these because they can be reset. In past years it was my understanding that sand fell into the gas line to shut it off. That sounds like a pain and a mess. This little gem may be my new “go to” housewarming gift...not too fancy but oh so useful for SoCal!

Very easy to install
Very easy to install. Without an actual earthquake, It would be difficult to judge how well it worked, however the operational test they recommended went off without a hitch.
