The knives are amazing. You're getting your money's worth here, I haven't had to resharpen my knives in all these time. I'm a big KAI fan, I use their scissors for my fabric business and you will not be disappointed by these knives. I normally don't write a review unless something's either really bad or really excellent and these knives are just that, excellent.

We had a few of the individual knives for years, and I love them. This set completes my need, and is great quality. Just keep your FIL from using them as a wire cutter, and see if your wife will stop using them on hard surfaces... Its a never ending battle, not the knives fault.

My cleaver (or wide knife, the rectangular one) has a small bend in the bottom of the edge. For $200 I was expecting some quality control. I won't go through the hassle of returning and getting a new knife because it will still do it's job, just a bit disappointed in the quality. They are sharp, light, and will cut anything but that small imperfection along the edge of one of the main knives in the set.

Great set and worth the money.

I got this set for Christmas this year [plus a couple others not offered] to replace the old set I had from college [in which my roommates and I did not take very good care of, but they were also super cheap to begin with] and these are the BEST KNIVES I've ever used - period. They're gorgeous, they're so smooth and they are so SO sharp compared to what I'm used to. I have very small hands as well so the handles were just the right size and don't feel awkward to hold - I have a firm grip when I'm cutting. They're very balanced too so neither the handle or the blades themselves are too heavy when using them too. The board also holds up to 4 more knives then what comes in the set so there's plenty of more space for new ones! I'm very excited to keep working with these and plan on keeping them in tip-top shape. Now I just need to find some nice steak knife replacements!

I am disappointed how dull these knives are they look nice but cut lousy.
