Good Product After Learning Curve
We purchased the Vertuolline GCA1 Big Size version seeking an alternative to expensive pods. As reported in many reviews, the first cups were watery and disappointing. I pulled apart official pods to determine the coffee/water ratio and grind fineness. For this pod, we reprogrammed our Vertuo to use about 5.4 oz or 153 ml of water. Note that in reprogramming you lift your finger from the button to indicate when to stop. The machine will still dispense roughly another 0.5 oz or 14 ml of brew that is still in the capsule. We filled the capsule with about 0.33 oz or 9.25 g of coffee. The result was close, but our blade grinder was not getting the grounds fine enough. By using a Bodum Bistro on the second to finest setting we got great results without clogging the holes in the capsule. The photos show the capsule after use. We might try grinding the beans a little finer. Now we are very happy with our purchase and are considering a second capsule.Update: We have increased the coffee to 10.0g leaving the water at 153 ml. With gentle packing, this brings the coffee flush with the edge. See the picture. Be sure to clear the threads before you screw on the top.

Weak brew and You still need nespresso barcode
Hi,First of all, I want to say that I love the idea of this product. And that it is pretty much very well-made. There are a couple things to keep in mind. Then nespresso, coffee machine specifically designs its pods with barcodes on the bottom rim that the laser inside the machine can read it to make your coffee the amount that you need, etc. So in order for this to work you have to keep your old Nespresso coffee pods take the foil off the top, clean them out and put this reusable pod inside. I’ve tried and experimented quite a bit with the reusable situation with the Nespresso Verto next coffee machine. I’ve used different beans have use different nespresso, empty pods, different ratios, etc. My last and I would say best attempt to a nice cup of coffee using the reusable was me using a Starbucks strong roast empty pod, which I took the foil off the top and cleaned it out from the old coffee grinds and then scooped in one scoop of espresso powder, and one scoop of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee into the reusable pods that I bought. And then sealed the pod make sure there were no coffee grinds on it and put it inside of the old Starbucks empty pod. I’ve been placed inside the machine, close the lid and hit go. It was the most success I’ve had in trying to make the Nespresso over to next more economically sustainable. However, the coffee was far from what it would taste if you just bought an nespresso coffee pod from the store. The coffee was very weak, although it still had the nice frothy texture. I’m going to try a stronger coffee and possibly removing the metal on the bottom of the Starbucks old pod so that it’s only the barcode on the sides left. Essentially putting a little bracelet onto the reusable pod. I’m definitely not proud of Nespresso for making their product in this way. I know they have recycling options, but it is honestly very expensive and not that accessible to everyone. In order for coffee to be sustainable it does need to be accessible. Overall, I would give it 2 stars out of five. However, I’m not completely blaming the manufacture of this product nor my blaming espresso. I think that it’s just a very difficult situation to work with so if you want your ideal cup of coffee, the same way you had it when you got your Nespresso coffee pod you should probably buy espresso, coffee pod or get a different coffee maker. These are my opinions only and are not meant to hurt or demean anyone. Again you can try yourself and decide perhaps you have a different opinion.

It works, but coffee is mediocre and machine vibrates heavily and creates very lound noise
The good news is, this capsule is recognized by Nespresso Vertuo (first generation) machine and one can make coffee with it. The quality of coffee is a little better than from a mocha pod, but much worse than when one uses original Nespresso capsules. In most cases, it is much more watery. I experimented with different settings of the grinder, it seems that one does not need the finest (espresso) grind, something between espresso and medium works better, but still, taste is not the same and crema consistency and texture is worse (crema is less dense and more bubbly). The bad news is that this capsule is very difficult to fill to keep it evenly balanced. If you spin unbalanced capsule, it vibrates and the whole machine vibrates like my old washing machine. From maybe 40-50 cups of coffee which I made using this capsule so far, only 2-3 were brewed without excessive vibrations of the machine. - still noisier than with original capsules, but at least, not violently to think that the coffee machine may explode. Most of the time, when the capsule spins in the machine, it vibrates heavily, creates very loud noise like an airplane, and one has to hold the cup in place because it tries to "walk" from vibrations like old generation washing machines. I opened a not-brewed original capsule of Nespresso and found that coffee in the capsule was pretty loose. Hence, tamper included in the kit is not needed for Nespresso! Actually, vibration gets a little less, although does not disappear, if one just taps the capsule against the table to let coffee redistribute itself in the capsule. Also, coffee quality is better without tampering. If this is the case, why the tamper is included, why do we pay for what makes Nespresso coffee worse (note, nespresso uses a different principle than espresso machines, it does not push hot water through coffee at high pressure, it uses the forces generated when capsule spins to get water through, so one can speculate that water might not be pushed through too densely packed coffee grinds), and why there are no instructions how to use it to get at least a decent quality coffee? I guess, I got my money worth after making like 50 cups of coffee with it, and it did not break down my machine as of yet (although the force of vibrations makes me think it is possible that it would eventually break from vibrations), but after multiple tries I ended up buying Nespresso original capsules again because coffee from this capsule, honestly, sucks.

Tamper is awesome!!
I love this set but the tamper is the best of the items. The pod is a very light weight metal and not as durable feeling as another pod that I have. That being said, I still use the pod regularly and have had no issues. The tamper gets use regardless of what pod I am using. I love the heavy weight of it. Great quality. Comes with a mini cleaning brush to clear small grinds from the lid as well as a coffee scoop.Definitely recommend!!

easy to use, easy to clean
I really like its design idea, it is clean, environmentally friendly, and can be reused. The four plastic capsules that come with it are also very good, and they all match well with the 10 stickers that come with it, and when using the stickers, I think it will be closer to the original taste, and the coffee density will be similar. This stainless steel capsule coffee comes out at first is relatively light, if it can reach the coffee strength compare with using the sticker, it will be perfect.

Not happy !!
There is a very bad seal between the cup and the lid, so once in a coffee machine and under the pressure coffee grounds start to leak out. Not a very good contraption. Not for me ! ... maybe I was missing on some instructions , .. oh well there were non in the box !!!
