Q: For those who have a clay tagine and this stainless steel one, or if you have experience with both, is there a difference in cooking between the two?

The difference is that clay requires a much higher heat. Clay pots also require more care than a stainless steel one. I bought this stainless steel one and have used it many, many times. For me it was the right purchase.

Q: Is it really 16" wide? That will take up a large and small burner and fit on neither one on a regular stove elec stove. Is this a problem?

Hi,I just measured mine, its 10 inches at the base, 14 at the top flange on which the lid rests. On our 30in stove we have had no issues with space. It is a well made cooker, we have made some delicious Moroccan food on it.

It is Cooks Standard Premium Grade Multi ply Clad Stainless Steel 18-10 Made in China. This is written on the bottom of the cooking pan.
