Get ready for some major youkai butt kicking action!
Man, this series is amazing! If you're into the "youkai (Japanese demons/monsters) butt kicking" anime stuff, this is one of the best shows out there. Lots of awesome battles, tons of funny moments, a good dose of drama and intrigue, and lots of heart. You actually feel for what the characters are going through in the span of the series. There is quite a bit of depth to the characters and story line, so it's not just a "kicking monsters/demons butt" marathon with no plot or deep characters. Oh, and the main villain of the series is absolutely terrifying, both in appearance and in their overall personality. You will not find many other anime villains that are as terrifying as the one in this show. BTW, the first opening song of the show is one of the manliest songs you'll ever hear in any anime. Great stuff! If all this sounds interesting to you, go on and give this show a shot.

Not the OG , but a good reboot with updated animation
Not the original anime , this is an updated reboot. A lot of the story / characters are the same and the animation is way better quality , but also being done I think 20 years after the OG.Still great anime to own and watch

The Present and Past are One
A great show with two bickering heros that need each other.The series starts off as almost pure comedy. A high school boy finds a monster demon in a shed cellar that has been tacked to the wall for 500 years by the famous Demon Spear. In fact the demon is famous in his own right. The boy is talked into removing the spear and the adventure begins. As the story progresses it gets to a more and more serious tone as they fight to save Japan from sinking into the sea. Caused by an evil entity. In their travels they amass an army of good friends that all pull together to help them.This is set in modern times with stories of the past. It is different though in that the past isn't truly the past. It has mostly been hidden from modern society. The monster characters live very long lives and other characters that might have past away still live on in spiritual form.Through mystical time travel the characters are able to witness first hand the origin of the Demon Spear and also Tora's story. In the case of the Demon Spear, Ushio and Tora are able to be with the family that crafted the spear and actually be involved with Its creation. A spur of the moment decision gives the spear a deeply profound meaning beyond that of just being a very powerful weapon.A great heartfelt series that delivers on all levels.("ANIME: Storytelling at its best")
