Hooke Road Wrangler JK Drop Side Steps Nerf Bars Running Boards Compatible with Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4 Doors 2007-2018

I read the reviews on this item prior to purchasing and compared to other products in both price and look. It was a bit pricier than several of the other products I reviewed from this manufacturer and a few others. However I went with this one because of the look, the material it was made from (steel), the positive reviews and the ease of installation. I was actually impressed at how easy it was to install (approximately 30 min to install), and the condition it was in when delivered. I read some of the horror stories regarding the delivery conditions: damaged, scratched, dented, destroyed; however this unit was delivered in pristine condition. I inspected it upon delivery and there were no scratches or dents. Also I couldn't comment on it's sturdiness until it was installed. I and my wife both jumped up and down on it after it was installed and you could tell, it didn't even notice us. This product is a good design, worth the money and I would definitely recommend it.Pay attention to the drawing included in the packaging. This will inform you on which side is which. There is a difference. May save you a few minutes on installation.

I literally had these on for one whole week…. My boyfriend installed them he said it was super easy and quick. I got t boned a week later. These sidesteps actually saved my frame from the damage. They took the brunt of the hit from the car. Without them…. It would have been totaled. So I am grateful.

This product looks great and totally changed the look of my JK. Shipment arrived with no damage. Opened box and both running boards were in goid condition. Installation was very easy. Take a look at the insteuctions to distinguish between driver-side and passenger-side running boards. I was able to install both by myself in about 45 minutes. Luckily I was able to put the running board in place, after removing the nut, abd from there it was easy. If not for that, then it would be a two person job for sure. Highly recommend!

These are a little deeper and lower than other steps that look similar, but still look better than the factory running boards. Good footing and easy for those of us who aren’t that tall. The 1941 accent will look good with some downcast lighting. They are well made and were easier to install than the old ones were to remove. Maybe 30 minutes. Helps to have a friend hold them.

I could’ve saved money and purchased a non-Hooke product but I’ve been very happy with my Hooke set up. I was disappointed but not surprised since these reviews all claim these issues:1. Scuff marks too many to count2 Hard indents 4-5 on each side. They were not caused by shipping as the plastic was pristine and scratch-less.This product needs a good QA inspection.Based on the previous reviews I kept the plastic on during install to make sure I didn’t cause any additional scratches. I plan to call Hooke and provide the feedback. I am hoping they add a QA step, and possibly send me a touch up kit.Easy to install, you need two people when bolting on, and each side comes with a “L” left “R” right stamp.

Cons first: as with some of the othersNo instructions- BUT if you can’t figure them out you probably shouldn’t be driving.Scratches/dent- yes from shipping and the packing could be a little more strategicPROs: These look great and very functional!! Absolutely love the design, my wife is short so the wide drop step makes it much easier for her to get in and out without sacrificing clearance. The fuel tank hangs lower than these steps.Fit like a glove. 10min and both sides were on and secure. Honestly it was that fast. No fighting trying to get them on.Customer service, customer service! As noted there was some damage. I followed the protocol and received a very prompt response from the seller offering solution options.Thank you for the great customer service experience and awesome product!!

Good looks, easy installation, and delivered in perfect condition. I was hesitant to order based on other reviews about receiving damaged products or having rust issues, but I ordered anyway based on positive experience with their bumpers.If I lived in a coastal area I would have considered a more expensive brand, but these are perfectly fine for me.

I really like these. The area where your suppose to step is off. One had a small ding, but after it was installed you couldn't see it. Other then that they are perfect. They are very sturdy. They made a great addition to my Jeep.

Just put these on my 2018 JKU, went on really easy and they look really good. Not super heavy duty and won’t do much if your rock crawling to protect the body but if you are not worried about that, I’m really happy how these went on and look.

Having a jeep with about 4 inches of lift on it, made it difficult especially for my wife to get in and out of the jeep. I considered power running boards but they are too expensive. These Hooke Road side steps are a perfect addition. for installation, I recommend cleaning out the bolt hole areas due to dirt n muck. Also anti-seize on the bolts. these side steps also fit perfectly over the RR body "armour" I put on. Clearance is anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4“.Unless you are doing serious rock bashing on the trails, these should give you enough clearance. On my jeep I still have 16” from bottom of the step to the ground. These sidesteps look really really good on my jeep. And they will on yours too. As well, if you have the OEM rock sliders, they DO have to be removed for the sidesteps to fit.

Not worth the money rusted out like a year later.
