Only had this a day, but pretty impressed.It’s quite significantly smaller than I imagined and I would have preferred if the whole screen was devoted to the principal reading, Speed, for example. Instead the screen is split between the speedometer and the time. I have a watch for telling the time.The consequence of splitting the screen is that the main reading is less than an inch high and that obviously reduces your ability to see it at a glance.That said, this is a straightforward, unfussy device that appears to be well made.It took about 20 minutes to fit to my bike, but it worked immediately and I had no difficulty achieving a connection.Fitting the device cradle and the sensor was a little fiddly. They are attached with plastic ties. No spares are provided and once attached they cannot be removed and adjusted. If you get it wrong, you’ll need another set of ties.If you want something more substantial you need to pay £15 to get the screw on bracket.I’ve only used it once on the road so far, but it seems to work well and I was pleased with my purchase.

Does the job well

Installation is quite simple, both transmitter and receiver. It has only one button to access all functions: Total distance, time in motion, current kilometres, calories burned, average speed. The display shows you two functions: the current speed and another of your choice. When you are stationary for more than ten minutes, the sleep function is activated, and does not work again until you press the button again. To reset the counters to zero, you must press and hold the button for three seconds. For the price the functions are more than sufficient and it works properly.

Context:I'm 72 and have been cycling without anything like this for over 60 years, so why now? It's because I don't cycle as much as I used to and I don't want to lose speed and endurance simply due to old age. You know what they say: use it or lose it.When I was younger, I used to do 70+ mile days at an average speed of 12 mph (including rest breaks) so my average on-road speed would have been about 14 mph. Of course, in those days this was calculated from maps and a wristwatch. I want to see if I can maintain that average speed on my shorter rides today.So, this is a way of monitoring and improving my speed and endurance. I've promised myself an extended tour in France (re-living the days of my youth) for my 77th birthday and I want to be sure that I can do it and still be back in time for my 78th!Description:This is about the simplest cycle computer out there. I just want a limited amount of information, so this is ideal. There are only three components: (i) the cockpit-mounted computer/display, (ii) the fork-mounted sensor and (iii) the wheel-mounted magnet which activates the sensor.The data is gathered by sensing revolutions of the wheel (in my case, the front wheel) and wirelessly sending the signal to the cockpit-mounted computer. The computer counts the revolutions and time and then does the relevant calculations. The information you want is clearly displayed on the screen.Fitting:The first thing to do is to set up the computer. It's simple enough using the guide. You need to tell the computer* the units (mph or kph),* the wheel size,* the way you want time displayed (12 or 24-hour clock) and* the current time.Once that is done, you attach:(I) the computer to the cockpit (stem or handlebar)(ii) the sensor to the fork and(iii) the magnet to the spokes.The key to success is getting the magnet and the sensor accurately aligned and spaced.The whole operation took a fumble-fingered old fool like me 25 minutes. You'll do it a bit more quickly - say 15 to 20 minutes.In use:The display is very clear and probably accurate. I immediately went for a short ride to the supermarket and the distance shown was identical to that shown on Google maps.I'm very happy with it.UPDATE: I've been using it for a week now and it's giving me some useful information. I know that my average road speed is about 12 mph. I need to increase this. The hills show me down to about 5 mph. I could do with increasing this. It also gives me distances I've ridden ... and I want to go for longer rides (but that can wait until the weather improves).Yes, it's useful and tells me that I've slowed down quite a lot over the years. That means that I need to work harder and rebuild my fitness for cycling. It means I can set goals and see whether I'm achieving them or not.Yes! I'm happy I invested a small amount of money in a very useful device.

If you are a serious bike enthusiast then you are going to want a GPS device like Wahoo or Garmin.But if you are looking for something decent for your kids (or if you aren’t quite at the GPS level yet) then this is absolutely perfect. It looks great, is detachable and does what it needs to.Details:Very easy to set up. It measures speed by measuring the time it takes for a magnet (attached to a spoke) to pass by the sensor with each wheel turn. This is wirelessly sent to the display unit.The sensor is calibrated by entering the wheel circumference into the display unit. Very easy and comes with preconfigured wheel sizes.We were up and running in under five minutes.The display can be easily detached from the bike so that it doesn’t get stolen. The display is clear and looks really smart.I really love the unit. Good purchase. Looks fantastic. And it comes in a nice box so it makes a great gift. All-round winnerReminder: it is NOT a GPS unit. It measures speed, max speed and distance based on a sensor attached to the spokes. If you want a GPS unit I recommend the Wahoo.

Does a perfect job, simply and easily. Bought to replace an aged and worn out Cateye trip computer (14 years of xllnt service tho!!) - and I can't be bothered with cadence, heart rate, VO2 max, hills climbed and all of that paranoddy - I just want distance covered, time taken, max speed achieved and average speed per ride - and that is it. And this Cateye computer does all of that with elegant simplicity and idiot proof ease! Easy to fit and a doddle to use, it's a brilliant addition to my bike and my riding experience and it looks really good too! 👍

This provides all the basic functions in an easy to access and easy to read manner. The screen size while not the biggest is more than adequate, and set up reasonably straightforward if a little lengthy. The calorie counter isn't much use and cannot be accurate as it doesnt take into account the gradient you travel on. A temperature gauge would have been a more useful function as would some night illumination. Other than that everything works as it should. Except the maximum speed. Mine read 61.7 MPH. I wish!!

El mejor que he tenido, funciona a la perfección. Tiene las funciones básicas, velocidad, reloj, distancia día, velocidad media día, velocidad máxima, tiempo actividad, tiempo total, distancia total, y calorías quemadas. es muy importante que cuando te paras, se detiene el contador y no afecta a la velocidad media y cuando empiezas a rodar se pone en funcionamiento automáticamente, excepto si estás parado más de 10 minutos que se pone en modo sleep y hay que ponerlo en marcha con el botón. si quieres borrar los datos del día con el único botón que tiene, pulsación prolongada se pone a cero. Borrado total, reset y configuración hay que utilizar los botones de la parte trasera. He colocado el sensor a 50 cm. en la barra de la horquilla del lado donde he puesto el cuentakilómetros en el manillar, con lo cual queda justo encima y la recepción es inmejorable. Por lo demás es muy fácil de operar con un único botón, se ve muy bien, es impermeable a la lluvia (Esto no lo he probado todavía) y es muy bonito. Como pega lo de las bridas no me gusta mucho, no me quedó muy bien a la primera en el lugar que quería y se veían las cabecillas de la brida, con lo cual he tenido que comprar más bridas y hacerlo bien y con más cuidado.
