Nobody's Fool
C**.
One of the Sweetest Movies!
What can I say about “Nobody’s Fool” without going overboard…I had this movie on VHS 20 years ago! When you switch to DVD machine and then a Blu-ray, you tend to miss the movies from your 20’s and the nostalgia was so strong, so I began searching for many of the movies on cable. Most were found, but this one, Nowhere! When I found it on Amazon I ordered it in excitement. Two days later I was poppin’ that baby into my DVD player (yes we kept it, it’s still working great!) and watched ‘Nobody’s Fool’!I LOVED it! Rosanna, Arquette, and Eric Roberts brought such a light whimsy into the film, and seeing the struggles many of us have when we were young was a great reminder on how far we’ve all come since then! I’ll be pulling this on out to watch every once in a while now! I Still Love it!

Love This Movie
Love this movie. Was hoping to find it on prime video where you can buy it to stream it but no luck there so bought the DVD...haven't seen this movie in a long time. I absolutely love it. Great love story with Eric Roberts and Roseanna Arquette. Check it out or enjoy it again if you haven't seen it in awhile...

Quirky Characters & Non-Formulaic Rom-Com
I love, love, love this movie! If I was to have a cult film addiction, this would be the film (Princess Bride would probably be the only other one for me). In the late 80's, I used to watch Nobody's Fool over and over and then, somewhere along the line, I lost my copy (VHS, of course). When I found it on DVD, I watched it with my 20-year-old son (he is an English major in college and loves discussing good books and movies). I was a little nervous that it was going to look dated and that I was going to be wondering what I had ever loved about watching it 25+ years ago. But I was so pleasantly surprised that I still really enjoyed it. And, an even bigger surprise, my son loved it, too! We discussed it afterwards for quite some time. There are scenes in this movie that have stuck with me over the years. My husband and I have frequently referred to the scene with Cassie and her Cousin Linda, "I got my TV watching suit on" whenever we are settling in to watch a movie or something for any period of time. I think the scenes that Cassie has with her Cousin Linda are some of the best because Linda is the one in the movie that has been clearly identified with mental illness (although Cassie runs a very close second), but yet Linda is the only one that seems to really see Cassie clearly. There are so many scenes that stand out in this movie. If you like quirky characters (as I do) and movies that don't necessarily follow the usual formula, you should give this one a chance. It is not your typical rom-com and they even weave in a little Shakespeare which gives Cassie an incredible venue to express her true depth and just how much she has outgrown her small hometown.

Hopeful Romantic Movie Fan
I bought this movie then gave it a way! Why I did that, I don’t know? I’m a hopeful Romantic! I love corny silly funny romantic movies! I couldn’t find this movie anywhere so I had to buy this movie again! Even though it’s not a very popular movie I still LOVE watching it! The story Relatable and it does happen to a lot of people and in real life! It’s probably one of the reasons why I Love this movie so much!

Outstanding !
Outstanding screenplay, direction, acting, and musical score. I have watched this film several times, it is an amazing feel good romantic drama/comedy (more drama than comedy, but very quirky and funny in many spots). Rosanna Arquette shines in this film as our hero seeking love, and escape from her small hometown, perhaps more importantly her character seeks to find her inner self. I wish they would have released a soundtrack CD for this film, or perhaps now they could at least distribute it as download as digital music (hoping). I give this film five stars as a romance drama-comedy, but of course it is drama, and independent film, so do not expect huge budget special effects. The film is shot in the New Mexico/Arizona region, with some nice backdrops. Note: The Amazon description of the DVD here says it is 1.33:1 (4:3 TV mode), but I already purchased two copies and the DVD includes both 1.33:1 as well as widescreen mode (which I have viewed off the DVD).

Quirky and adorable!
I saw this movie late one night as it was offered on netflix's streaming to computer option and I instantly fell in love with it! It's a romantic comedy but as it was made in 1986 it has such a different, in some ways more authentic feel to it versus the more modern "rom-coms". I instantly fell in love with the leads and I just had to own the DvD myself. As a 22 year old female that isn't too fond over the over the top predictable romantic type comedies coming out these days, this movie was refreshing and genuinely funny. I only wish the film could have been longer!5 stars!

It could have been better
Eric Roberts was really good in this movie, unfortunatly the same can't be said about Rosanna Arquette.I didn't like her character much but Eric roberts and her had good chemistry. It also had some memorable lines, like "He just looks at me,stares at me,with these eyes" wich she brings up again later in the movie and I can see why.Eric Roberts has some peircing eyes that will leave any woman hypnotized. It's a shame. This movie had alot more potential.I say it's worth a rental but not a buy.

Underrated 80s classic!
Sweet 80s comedy romance,Rosanna arquette is perfect as the kooky Cassie & never looked lovelier then in this.Cassie is a girl from a small town who works in a bar with a past of heartache & sadness, she meets up with Riley(Eric roberts)a member of a theatre group with a reformed past & finally finds someone who excepts her for who she is.This is an underrated 80s classic that manages to be funny & sad, recommended to all!
