North Gets His Lady
North Callaghan is 2 years out of prison and living in solitude. He just wants to stay out of trouble. This quiet life is shaken up when Faith Walters moves in next door. That would be Faith Walters, the sheriff's younger sister.I enjoy this as much as the 1st book, which is about North's brother, Knox. I enjoyed how the romance between North and Faith grew organically in the story. It didn't feel forced as in book 2. Faith is a nice woman, someone North feels he doesn't deserve. Its a slow burn romance with a scorching pay off late in the story.

Fun, easy read
If you like a gruff lone wolf kind of hero, this book is for you. A nice balance of steam and story. I'll re-read it again, which is the highest compliment I can give a book.

I Love North!
I've been waiting for North's book ever since I read All Chained Up. Sophie Jordan did not disappoint.I won't recount the story here; others do that. I'll talk about how I feel about North and Faith. I live in Texas, so I could identify with these characters maybe more than others. Faith was exactly a good Texas girl, and her father and brother were good Texas men. Lawmen besides. I liked the mix of her being a good girl and having the independence and stubbornness that the men in her family have. It made her a complex, likable heroine, and I liked that she didn't do a lot of stupid stuff just to prove her independence.North...well, I've been a little in love with him since All Chained Up. He's had it rougher than his brother Knox, spent more time in prison, saw and lived stuff that almost destroyed him. His feelings of worthlessness were totally believable, especially when he compares the more charmed life he led before everything happened that landed him in prison for so long. He lives up to his own low expectations and fights to keep himself there--because he's sure that's all he deserves. He fights his attraction to Faith--and hers for him--because trust comes hard for him. And why wouldn't it?I love that North was put in a position that was reminiscent of his past. It was basically save Faith or save himself. She was quick to defend him, it changed the dynamic of their relationship, and I loved every second of it. I also loved the ending, something of a surprise. It's now confirmed: I will read anything Sophie Jordan writes.

Gritty, Ex-Inmate Struggles to Believe
I love the Devil's Rock series and Fury on Fire didn't disappoint in delivering an alpha, sexy ex-prison-inmate hero. In FOF we get to spent time with North, Knox's younger brother (Knox being the main character from Book 1, All Chained Up). Despite being third in a trilogy, this novel would work fine as a stand-alone if you didn't get to read the others. In fact, the second book in the series, All Hell Breaks Loose, was almost unrelated to this one completely except to mention Reid, the main hero, a handful of times. In FOF North has been out of prison for two years and struggles to find normalcy in his life. He's strong in spirit but has little self-worth. When Faith buys the other half of the duplex he lives in, he's forced to fight his attraction for her since she's far too good for him. Their chemistry was scorching hot and their interactions made me laugh out loud more than once. Even with plenty of comedy, this one has a dark edge as well that might be appealing to noir lovers.I had to rate this one as average, however, because there just wasn't much of a plot. The first two books in the series were very exciting with a thrilling storyline in the background that kept me turning pages. I would probably put them in the romantic suspense category. The characters were forced through circumstances that bonded them and the love they formed was believable. In FOF, there is no real plot of background story except two people falling in love... which put this one into the more "contemporary romance" genre, which just isn't my favorite. There was an opportunity for a storyline in the background that wasn't explored, except in the briefest way. It surprised me that Jordan didn't use Faith's job/situation at work more. This one just wasn't my genre. That being said, this is a GREAT romance if you like contemporary romance that will make you laugh featuring a gritty, alpha male!

I really enjoyed this series
I really enjoyed this series, I binge read the books like I would binge watch a good Netflix show. I first read Sophie Jordan's Debutante Series and really enjoyed them, and I wanted to see what else she wrote. Each of the Devil's Rock series covers a different couple, and in my opinion each book gets better and better. I think books 3 and 4 might me my favorites. But all are great! My only negative comment would be the cover of the books, they're just really cheesy haha!

Perfection
I absolutely love this series and feel like I've been waiting for North's story forever. If you want to escape from reality and lose yourself in a love story, you can't go wrong with Sophie Jordan and the Devil's Rock Series!!

I read this book in pretty much one sitting
I read this book in pretty much one sitting. Well written and part of a series, but is easily a stand alone. Lots of steamy and emotional scenes - it felt really gritty and real and I was sad when the book had to finish.North, the ex-con hero is trying to turn his life around - two years after being released - and live it as best as he knows how, (unemotional one night stands with seedy women and working hard the rest of the time) until his new neighbour moves in... Faith, the social worker daughter of the cop who arrested him 14 years ago (although he doesn't know that for some time). He is drawn to her, even though he doesn't see her face for quite a while. He catches only glimpses of her silhouette, hears her voice etc.Told in duel points of view and set in a small town in Texas. I enjoyed this one as much as the first two, although it was a different type of story. I especially loved the texting scenes !
