Version 2.0 is horrible!
I've had version 1.0 for over 6 years with daily use and loved them! Version 1.0 fit perfect, very durable and comfortable right out of the box. When version 1.0 wore out, figured would get them again as they turned out to be so good. Went looking and found 5.11 had updated to version 2.0. That's good, right? Wrong!! These so called "new & improved" boots are horrible! The sizing is way off, they are too tight!! Despite getting 1/2 size above version 1.0, version 2.0 is still too tight! And the inner heel is hard, very hard. Plus it seems as if the heel inside is like a cup, your heel is going down into it, not sitting on top. The tab on the rear that use to pull up the boot is very small, smaller than version 1.0. The sole is not as thick as the 6 year old version 1.0 that I have! 5.11 really messed up. Should have left it the same.

3 MONTH OLD BOOTS DEVOPED A BIG HOLE AT THE CREASE OF ANKLE
Love this style of 511 boot this is my 3rd pair over the past few years. Though it's the first time they've failed me with the hole that's developed at the base of my ankle above the heel. Unfortunate and shouldn't be the case for a 3 month old pair of 511 boots. Normally 511 is rugged and fantastic quality.

These are great boots.
Bought these to replace an old pair I had..these will not disappoint. Been a great boot with many years of wear and tear.. The reason for the 4 star is they changed the air venting system. Just make sure you know your current length and width of your foot for the perfect fit.
