Son bought this for me. Absolutely love it. Great quality. Came packaged very well.

The cones are hollow plastic, it doesn't tick/tock and the cuckoo sound is disappointing but I might get used to it I hope. The cuckoo starts with chirping and gurgling water noise - then you get the cuckoo and its echo. The call and echo are fine, the chirping/water noise really isn't what I expected (hate it). Overall the quality is good, the shipping- directly from Germany was excellent and incredibly fast. I owned a mechanical 8-day prior to this and this quartz chalet had some unexpected differences I hope to get used to. So if this is your first experience with quartz/chalet, prepare thyself. I think this could have been covered in the description and also a short video would have been much appreciated. UPDATE: I got used to the shock of the cuckoo call being different and it keeps excellent time. Further, the light detection is spot-on even in fairly low-light situations. Upping to 5-Star, but still think the price is a bit high.

We have had this clock for more than a year. Time is still accurate, cookoo and music have not failed, nor have we had to change the battery. I had to remove one of the hanging pinecone because it is not heavy enough to stay away from pendulum as it swings. Other than that, it has required no maintenance except for occasional dusting off.

I bought this for my parents as a Christmas gift. The clock exceeded my expectation with the beautiful craftsmanship for the price. It made me happy that my parents absolutely loved their cuckoo clock.

Love my clock I have been wanting one for a long time, plus it plays music which was not mentioned in the description, but one can turn the music off.
