Great idea with the most thorough and detailed guide you'll find. I came to know a lot more from this guide and after reading it now I am planning to have my own shipping container house. I must recommend this guide to all.

I paid $0.99 for a Kindle download and believe I overpaid. This book is the equivalent of telling someone who wants to learn about buying a car: 1) research on the Internet; 2) find a car you like; 3) call the owner or dealer; 4) negotiate a price; 5) have a mechanic look it over, 6) draft a bill of sale, 7) pay the money, and 8) make sure to register your vehicle. If this was helpful to you, then this book will be helpful with respect to building a container home.

Not much information, one step above a brochure. Would be good for the first-time novice.

there is more info on the internet than in this book. waste of investment for me. (would have rated 1 star based on that)if you are a beginner in the container home, then this will be the basice for you to uinderstand if you want to enter into a build.

his is one of the most interesting DYI books that I have ever purchased. I always wanted to create my own project of shipping containers and to create something out of it. With the tips of the book, it gives me ideas on how I can create a good space inside the container. Maximizing the space while being minimalist. This is a fun challenge on making sure that you are able to come up with a more efficient space. I would recommend this book to anyone that is interested in shipping container homes. Thanks

We got the idea to use a shipping container as a cabin/camp in the woods as an inexpensive weekend retreat after seeing one on some Extreme Home show on HGTV or Travel Channel. I never realized there were so many options and ways to customize it though. I assumed these were for the really modern, forward thinking artsy type of person. This book really gives all the information you need to think about before buying your shipping container(s). It starts with planning how many you need and they would be set up and connect to each other, to finding them to purchase, how to transport them, where you can put them, and how to design them. This book is really a one stop shop for your planning needs if you think a shipping container might be your next home.

I know little of construction or building practices, but with the exception of one type of permit, there was nothing here I didn't know. And let me repeat, I don't have any special knowledge. This book was written in one afternoon, or it could have been. Spend 10 minutes on a computer, and you'll come out miles ahead. And that way you'll at least be able to see some pictures.

I was expecting some creative ideas on the design and materials of construction of container home interior. Unfortunately I didn't get much of it from this book.
