The Barbour Simplified KJV [Wildflower Medley]: The Simplified KJV Wildflower Medley Hardcover – 1 May 2022

Was intrigued by this so bought it. Usually use NKJV and wondered what this might be like. Print is lovely and clear. Pages are uncluttered because of large margins, paragraphs and clear spacing. Visually appealing inside and out. I love the pretty feminine floral cover, but it is a matte paper-finished which I think will get dirty quickly from continual handling ideally I would want the cover laminated to preserve it’s beautiful artwork and keep it clean. I’ve put a clear cover over mine. Generally I like what has been done in replacing obsolete words and outdated ‘thees’ and ‘thous’ for ‘you’ and ‘yours’; I particularly like that words representing God are now capitalised which does make things clearer in many passages of narrative. There are a few places where it feels to me that words have been changed for the sake of it unless the reader’s grasp of English is extremely basic - a bit of dumbing down, but generally a very good Bible which has been nicely set out. A good accurate alternative translation, I hope it gains in popularity and can be accepted by those who feel that the King James Bible is the only one to be trusted.
