I told my husband this shiny new set was like getting new sneakers, you could run faster and jump higher, so now he would play better and win more. He said it is definitely more stimulating to play with the new shiny metal pieces, instead of the boring basic flat board with plastic pieces.

The pieces were too similar in color and I can see where there would be confusion on whose is whose piece when playing a game. I also did not like that I had to remove the checker pieces from the storage compartment if I wanted to play chess otherwise they would fall out when opening the board to play a game. I liked the construction of the board and the pieces.

Very great pieces, unique

all the chess pieces are the same color . they are all the same metallic finish for both teams . you cant tell which team is which . you will have to paint these chess pieces yourself to to be able to distinguish between teams . horrible failure for a chess set . thats what you get from china .

I bought 2, one as a gift and 1 to keep.They are well made and heavy.Only problem was a clumb of extra glue on the inside lining of one (hench the 4 star review instead of 5). Hopefully, I can get it off.Would I recommend? YES
