Adore Anne Perry
Was very sad to hear of Anne Perry's death and, having read most if not all of her books, I will miss her excellent writing about contemporary crimes wrapped in Victorian and Edwardian clothing and behavior. If you like a good mystery and a fast ending, start with book one and enjoy some good reads. The Christmas tales include 21 stories which can be read as a separate series.

Just OK
The story line was interesting but the ending fell flat and abrupt. Not worth buying new that’s for sure.

Another great seasonal story by Anne Perry
For years, I vhave purchased the annual holiday mysteries created by Anne Perry. I particularly liked how concern for others comes to the forefront in this novelette. One orphaned child and a women of means at threat of domestic violence through a soon to be forced marriage ar at the center of affairs that Dr. Crowe and Scruff focus on. Enjoy this mystery and Merry Christmas!

Anne Perry delivers, again.
There is the excellent portrayal of the setting, and the development of the characters. There are twists and turns as the good guys risk themselves as they plot to reveal the bad guys. Justice may not be what the reader expects, but there is the heart-warming satisfaction of a story well told.

A Fine Christmas Mystery and More
Anne Perry has delivered another charming and eventful tale. Once again the characters along the banks of the Thames in London town bring mystery, arson and murder to be solved by a clinical Doctor Crowe no less. And, Scuff and Monk are not far behind. And, romance is in the Christmas Aire. Also, meet Mattie, who becomes part of this Christmas story.

Annual Christmas Novella
It's always a pleasure to read Anne Perry's annual Victorian Christmas novella, although I have to say there's nothing particularly 'Christmasy' about this year's mystery except that it is set in the days leading up to Christmas.Dr Crowe and his assistant Scuff run a medical clinic for London's poor. One day he is called to the scene of a carriage accident where he finds a young woman pinned with a severe injury to her leg. After treating the wound, he has her brought back to his clinic where she must stay for several days while she recovers. Crowe becomes enamored but unfortunately for him, she is Ellie Hollister, the only child of a wealthy businessman, and far above him in class. But Crowe can dream and tries to find as many opportunities as possible to stroll past her home hoping to catch a glimpse of her.On one such outing, Crowe sees her having words with a young man and when the argument turns violent, he steps in. He is shocked to learn the man is her fiancee. He cannot fathom why Ellie would consent to such a match. Is she being coerced by her father? Crowe decides to investigate and leaves his young apprentice in charge of the clinic. The story is a quick, heart-warming read with a touch of danger and much evil-doing leading to a very exciting ending. I enjoyed the historical setting and the interactions between these characters.I received an arc of this new novella from the author and publisher via NetGalley. Many thanks. My review is voluntary and the opinions expressed are my own.

read them all and this is NOT the best
this latest seems a bit duller than usual. not sure why, but I wouldn't want this one to be the introduction to any of her series.

Good Novela!
Perry’s Christmas novella’s run around 200 pages. They are enjoyable because she uses minor characters and gives the the starring role. This one develops the theme of domestic violence along with love and loyalty. As usual Perry does an excellent portrayal of the English class system.
