Great door edge protector, much better than the old ones I have used.
Just purchased this to replace clear door bumpers for one of our cars. The old bumpers had turned yellow and had started cracking down the middle and one had fallen off completely. They were only 2-3 years old. This new guard strip is much better constructed, very flexible and easy to install, and clings to the door very well. I am expecting that these will be a lot better then the old ones. More car is white and it would have been nice if I had that option, but all in all it looks good, went on easy, it appears that it will last a long time.

Solution for rust concerns
This product worked perfectly for me. After reading other reviews with concerns about rusting, difficulty in cutting and damage caused by this edge guard I can tell you not to worry. Let me tell you the things I did when installing mine. First I cleaned the door edges like the instructions tell you. Then I ran the edging along the outside of the door to get the length and then added about a half inch. Then by marking the spot with the end of my thumb I cut the edging with large (6"-7" handle) diagonal cutters (dikes). I then used my pocket knife and inserted the tip into the end from the side and popped up the metal inside enough to grab it with needle nose pliers and remove it. Next I used a soldering iron and rubbed it over the end where I removed the metal clip. Just enough to close the void where the metal was. Just have a wet rag handy and wipe the iron on it to clean it before setting it down. Now I inserted the blade of my knife into the open side of the edging to re-open it in case it was sealed also by the soldering iron. You can smooth off the end now with your fingers. Next I started with the now sealed end at the top, and with a rubber mallet I pounded it on all the way. I then marked the bottom end with a small piece of masking tape and then removed the edging completely. Now at this point I want to say that there was no damage whatsoever from me doing this, in fact I did this 3 times before I got the length right because it seems to stretch some in the process of pounding it on. So, I removed it completely so I could seal the end as before, but as I moved to the next door I just removed about 6 inches or so just enough to do the soldering iron thing and then pound that back down. All in all pretty simple and I think it looks good, it can't rust and it does what I bought it for. It saves the paint on all 3 of our vehicles on our highly sloped driveway. As you know the doors won't stay half way open on the slope so it's real easy to bang the car next to you.

Best product of this kind I have used
Used this to line plastic truck fender flares instead of using the included junk stripping they came with. It is not hard to install so long as you understand it essentially clamps very tightly onto the edge so it takes force to get it over the edge, you need to take your time and press very firmly. It has strips of reinforcing metal in it so I had to use a cutting pliers to cut the ends. I did not use a rubber hammer as the flares might not be able to take that. This product looks amazing on the fender flares and it is very strong and should last for decades. I have purchased 4 of these and plan to put it on the door edges of my truck also.

Heavy duty rubber trim with metal reinforced
Great trim protector. Made of heavy duty rubber with, flat, thin metal strips embedded in the rubber side walls on both sides. Once installed and pushed all the way on to the door edge the trim does become thicker with noticeable bulk when looking at it up close.Installed this on both doors of a van. These trims will definitely protect the edges of the door as well as giving some dampening to whatever object the door may happen to hit when opening.Installation was easy enough, I used a rubber hammer to help seat the trim all the way on the door edge. The rubber hammer is not necessary but the fit is pretty tight so using the rubber hammer helped.Overall, the trim seems like very good quality and well made especially for the price. 👍👍

Great product; super flexible yet great holding power; better than I expected
Good buy. Actually used this rubber seal trim around an area that I cut out of a steel bathtub to modify the tub walls to a step in shower (to basically make a handicap walk in shower). I know this sounds odd but I cut out a 16" U-shape from the tub wall and needed this seal trim to cover cut steel (other modifications to the tub included butting waterproof hydraulic cement product directly against this seal and there are no bad issues). This rubber seal worked perfect to protect the cut steel tub edges and exactly what was needed. Holds up to being stepped on twice a day on the bottom area and no bad issues whatsoever. I pushed on the rubber seal around the cut steel edges and the material on the inside of the rubber seal opened and closed down as the web site explained and held perfectly. I expected the seal product might wear or crush badly but it doesn't. I will now buy some in the appropriate color for my vehicle doors.

Wish I'd had this when my car was newer
I found the rubber seal trim to be great for protecting the door and hatch edges of my car. I wish I had known about this great product when my car was newer to protect the edges of my doors from getting nicked. This stuff attaches easily and very securely around the door and hatch edges of my car. I recommend using a rubber mallet to secure it in place. It fits tightly and securely but in order to do so, it helps to have a mallet to get it snug. After it's on, it looks great. If you have a new car, I recommend getting this to keep the door's edges from getting banged up when your door hits a hard surface.

Very Tidy product
This strip is very easy to install on your door edges to prevent dents and paint damage. start at the top of the door and press it firmly into place as you go down the door then simply snip it off at the bottom with a decent pair of scissors. Repeat on all your doors until you have an inconspicuous and very durable set of protectors for your car doors. I would recommend this product to anyone, easy to fit, good value and there is more than enough supplied for the average family car.

Simple to put on and looks good!
Edge protection that is simple to put on, covers marks already there and protects door edges from accidental scrapes. I had enough to do both front doors and rear doors. Very pliable and looks like it grips well. Not sure how easy it’ll come off if I need to in the future. Recommended!
