Universal Cell Phone Holder for mounting on Rearview Mirror Compatible with Mobile iOS Devices, Android Smartphone GPS and More. (Black - Version 1)

After purchasing, and wasting money on, shaky plug- in holders that do not reach my line of vision, and vibrating suction type window/ dash mounts, and having one blow apart in my face (literally) after hitting a pot hole, this Clamptastick is an excellent joy to behold! It is not a toy like I've found most GPS/ cell phone mounts are, but durable hardware that mounts in three minutes behind my rear view mirror exactly as depicted in the pictures. I have a Chevy Equinox with the ONSTAR navigation built into the mirror, but had absolutely no trouble connecting this device. I can rotate it in any direction; it's positioning behind and under the mirror cuts down glare considerably, and IT DOES NOT SHAKE OR VIBRATE! The clamp seems to hold the cell phone perfectly (I have a Samsung Galaxy/ Android) without allowing movement until I open it to remove the phone. The clamp is the only all- plastic part and I do have a concern over whether or not I can re-order one if and when this one finally breaks, but other than that this device seems perfect for my 8 hour a day travels. The cost is about average for a quality piece of hardware like this.

LOVED IT. I've tried so many different products. the windshield mount, the dash mount, vent mount none of them works. The sun is too hot for the windshield suction style and my GPS/phone would fall off. The dash mount does not work because most dashboard is not smooth or flat etc etc...So I found this product after months of trial and errors. Not too hard to install, depends on your phone or GPS size. Just unscrew the parts and put them back together according to your needs. It adjust in all directions. Can't go wrong anyway you set it up. The max opening is 6 inches & about 5 inches deep & will work with the majority of smart phones & GPS with room for your cable/charger. The price is good, quality materials & design and not cheap flimsy plastic. I just bought a third one for my BMW Z3. Its a bit tight space for this vehicle, the spacing between the windshield and rear view mirror mount is limited. Had to use up all the parts to make it work. AWESOME PRODUCT! Highly recommend this product.

I saw few reviews of this product and wanted to share since I always read reviews. This is a solidly built product that I can see many possible uses for besides what I bought it for, as a cell phone and GPS holder in my husbands SUV and on his bicycle. We used it on a 3 day trip and it performed well. I have searched for a good cell phone holder and dislike mount/lay on the dash, in the vents and suction cup holders. This seemed like a great option. For me, a short person, it would not obstruct my vision hanging from the visor, but my husband felt it obstructed his view, so he improvised and clamped it to the cigarette lighter adapter for our Garmin GPS, and that worked well, although we did have the plug come out twice during our trip during some sharp turns. If there were an extension rod that allowed the clamptastick to hang lower when mounted to the mirror, that might solve the issue for my husband. There were no instructions with it, but it wasn't too hard to figure out that there is a small metal piece that extends the distance of the clamp from the holder. Overall, we like the clamptastick and I don't regret the purchase.

Ok Tricky review, I suspect for most people this might be a more highly rated item, but it's not as universal as "universal" should be. I purchased this for my wife's 2016 Volvo. Unfortunately for me, the rear view mirror for the Volvo doesn't have this extended, "neck" for the item to grasp on to. I could certainly use it in my Shelby GT350, but I don't really benefit from that as the Android Auto negates the need for having the phone front and center.Ultimately, do your due diligence which I did not. Take just a second to look at your mirror mount to verify if this UNIVERSAL tool works for you. Again, I want to state that this is a very WELL BUILT item. It seems well engineered with several options for mounting, None of which worked for me.

The media could not be loaded.  Update: Too many parts to adjust, it kept coming loose just by driving.I like it but...The spring on mine it's a little weak..It will not hold my Galaxy S9 without a case, even when I turn a corner, it will fall from it.I don't like the fact , It cant be positioned vertically....

I recently purchased a 2018 Mazda 3 hatch and if you have one, a cup holder cell mount is not the most ideal because the cup holders are placed farther back than most. This clamp is great if you're in a similar situation. Even if you're not, I highly recommend this product (my wife has a cup holder mount with a 9" arm in her 2016 outlander; verrry cumbersome!!!). Like most have stated, its heavy duty metal except the clamp that holds the cell. The clamp itself is made of plastic but in my opinion, if you handle it with care it'll last a long time. If you don't have a sunshade for your windshield, I highly recommend one to prevent the plastic from drying prematurely. Everything you see on my pics was included in my order to include the steel (silver color) extension & the directions but I didn't need them. Amazon pics do not include the extension in their description. If it wasn't for that small extension, I probably would have sent it back because without it, I would not have been able to adjust my mirror or the cell itself for viewing options because they would have been to close to each other. FYI, with a few adjustments I managed to placed my cell just where I want it. Good luck!

I got this handy mount to turn my old cell phone into a dash cam and it works beautifully! It's completely made out of metal, probably aluminum, and is very well built and durable. It's a little bit confusing to set up, but it works great once you finally have your cell phone mounted in it. Also, it holds the phone pretty steady, which is super important for a dash cam videos. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a convenient way to hold your phone under the rear view mirror. As a side note, I am using it in my 2017 Honda Civic Sport hatchback.

You must have a rearview mirror that has a long enough arm that connects to the window to be able to clip it around
