Like most baggage locks, more of a deterrent really.
Like all suitcase locks, this is more of a deterrent to the would be opportunist thief. If someone really wanted to open your case, with time, they could do it.Having said that, this lock looks and feels pretty sturdy for it's size..The combination for the lock is easy to set up and change if you wanted to.
