GREAT, AFTER LEARNING HOW
I'll do two versions so you can choose the short or long review:SHORT VERSION: Beautiful yellow flame, and no smoke AFTER figuring out the best flame height for best efficiency.LONG VERSION: I haven't had an oil lamp since I was a kid. After researching like crazy, I finally bought one this morning. I filled it with Florasense oil (to the fill line, as the directions indicated), and fired it up--neglecting all of my serious tasks for the day. I found the smoke really strong. So much that I was disappointed that I would never be able to use the lamp indoors. This is where you say that the flame was too high, and smoking. And that was not the case. I actually lowered the flame quite a bit, and set the timer, to see how long a tank of oil will last. When it finally got dark (yes, I was messing around with it all day, walking into dark closets to analyze the light... but not for long due to the smoke), I momentarily turned the flame up to see how much light I would get. Suddenly, I noticed that there was no longer any smoke! So the issue with smoke was a combination of having the flame too low, and not having the lamp heated up. Knowing how to use your lamp/lantern is essential for avoiding smoke. But once you learn, breathe free and clear! This oil is great!

It is okay for most applications but do not mix it with paraffin decorative candles because it makes dirty and hazy the clear fluid necessary for see through displays. Our Forever Candle must now be drained and flushed to try to restore the clear display of bottled fruit.

Stinks
This oil should definitely be listed for outdoors only. I don't know exactly what's in it because it doesn't say but it really stinks. Not quite as bad as kerosene but I would definitely go with the Lamp Light ultra-pure oil in the future. But for value it's a good deal. You just get what you pay for.
