Does it have an upside down function /auto rotate?

Osmo Action has an option for rotating up-down your footage but you have to set it before recording.

is it true that you will not be able to use this if you don’t sign up to dji or use their app?

You Wont be able to use the camera unless you link it to the app. After the 5 skips it wont let you use the camera. Don't buy this. Returning mine immediately. Piece of landfill waste.

Why is this cheaper on amazon then on dji website?

Any seller that is offering under 349 is not an Authorized DJI Dealer. DJI only offers warranty to authorized dealers. Products purchased from unauthorized dealers are not subject to warranty services.

How is the audio with the built-in mic?

"how is it" obviously will depend on your needs, and how you assess quality of audio. I used it underwater and came out and it actually still sounded great immediately after coming out. I've used it handheld for interviews in an in-the-pinch run and gun situation, and it sounded very good. I mostly use the audio on it as a reference track for alignment with other cameras -- but do find it does a nice job. Here's a clip straight off a fixed camera at recent gig -- audio was being played out the PA and this is what the OA recorded through its internal mic.
