How to Trade Black Gold: Crude Oil Investing and Trading for Beginners

The book starts with trying to talk you out of trading and then tells you how rich you can get. It consistently tells you not be a day trader, but from what I gathered, that is what the book is mostly about. It is heavy on pep talk and is quite repetitive. He repeats lots of familiar advise to develop mental toughness as a trader. You would think the author thinks the repeated subjects are important. The repetition cycle seems to follow from chapter to chapter, so maybe the author thinks you may only read one chapter. By repeating the important subjects in each chapter gives you at least one exposure. When he gets to the few meaty parts, you don't get much foundation, so it is overwhelming. He warns you that there are not any diagrams etc, but they are much needed. He gives quite a bit of decent reference material to read on the web or just tells you there is good stuff out there for the cost of just searching. I have not read all of the reference material. So maybe after that reading, the meaty parts will make more sense. I was using a Kindle Cloud Reader, and it informed me the book did not allow searching. It also did not allow writing notes. For the delicate of ears, the author likes to drop the f bomb occasionally along with other spicy language. When I first started reading this book, I envisioned a much lower rating than I finally gave it. Maybe my final rating is too high but 1/2 stars are not allowed.

This has got to be the worst book I ever read on any subject whatsoever....NOT JUST INVESTING. At no time in this book will you learn anything at all about trading oil...aka...black gold. The author wastes your time telling you everything you should and should not be doing but NEVER actually touches the subject of trading oil in any fashion whatsoever. If you were a newbie before this book....nothing is going to change...you will be one after as well. I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I received this book as a Christmas present because my wife knew I had an interest in trading oil. Well needless to say, I read the entire book on Christmas day looking for a nugget of information to help me trade oil. FORGET IT....it's not there so save your money.
