Good strong black coffee
I wasn't sure what to expect from a brand i didn't recognise - the beans are black and they smell strong. Boy to they deliver. At first i thought i was drinking a well known UK brand called Rave (which is my go to coffee) - this is right up there on strength, i have my coffee black so its perfect for me to have a decent logn cup of coffee rather than just get the strength for an espresso shot.Well packed, decent long date on it and although seems expensive at first, if you compare it with many of the online coffee subscriptions services its about the same.

Nice coffee
For coffee lovers, having coffee beans allows us to grind them when we are going to consume them, preserving the aromas and flavour better. In addition, the bag has a zip that allows us to close the bag between uses. Before opening the bag we can already smell a certain delicious aroma of coffee, which surrounds us once we open the bag. The colour and shine of the coffee beans is beautiful. The taste is intense and good.

Smelt lovely but tasted different
As soon as I opened the amazon packaging I could smell this and thought it smelt lovely and sweet! This made me excited to try it.It's packaged nicely and the pack is filled a decent amount (not loads of air inside). The beans looked fresh and smelt fresh too.I ground some of the beans and then added it to a French Press and let it sit for a while in the hot water.I noticed that when I ground the beans, the sweeter coffee bean smell turned a little more bitter smelling, and when I poured this coffee and tasted it without sugar or milk, it tasted that way too!I added some milk to a different cupfull and just sugar to another to try different ways of drinking this.Personally, I prefer drinking it with a bit of sugar to take the edge off of that bitter taste (adding milk just made it too weak for me). This, like others, will come down to personal preference as to whether you enjoy the taste or not, but just on the overall look of the product, it looked fresh and inviting and you get a decent amount for the price (around £7). Had no troubles with the delivery either. It came the next day I think!

Initial Impressions Are Good... But Flavour Loses It's Way If Making Something More Than An Espresso
This KV&C coffee comes in rather basic packaging, but I guess it's what is on the inside that counts. The bag is resealable but as I got the 250g sized bag it isn't really a necessity for me as that amount of beans easily fits into my bean to cup coffee machine.Opening the bag you get the lovely coffee bean smell and the beans are dark roasted. Because of that I'm using a medium grind with medium heat when making a cup/shot.The taste from a double espresso is bitter sweet with a definite chocolate and tobacco nose from it. Towards the end of the first sip there is an almost smokiness to it. However when I then made an actual drink, (rather than just the shot), the taste profile became rather subtle. I hadn't made anything complicated or funky, just a simple Americano with milk, but if I'm honest that bitter sweet espresso had become a bit lost.It still was enjoyable and I am drinking it, but given the cost, I was expecting a bit more from these.

Interesting flavour, very different from my usual Columbian
I always like to get coffee beans rather than ground. It always seems to last longer and taste Better when you grind the beans as you're making the coffee. I would normally choose a Columbian blend but i decided to try something different. The beans arrive in a foil lined card pouch. It is resealable via the sandwhich bag style press together lock. It also has a pressure valve to stop the bag going pop, which most quality tea and coffee bags now have.Open the pouch and the beans smell nutty. There's also a slight oil to them (you might be able to see in the photo) . So when using a machine or cafetiere there is a lot of foam. So if using a machine you may have to clean more frequently. These are Arabica beans roasted to medium dark. So the flavour is quite strong. If you're not used to the flavour it's a good idea to add a little milk or weak to start with.I use a cafetiere that holds about 1 pint of coffee. I grind enough beans for 1 tbsp of coffee + 1 tbsp per cup. This gives a rich dark coffee. It smells nutty, and gives tastes of nut, and tobacco. It is smooth and gives a strong flavour that fades to a subtle aftertaste and aroma. There's no strong acidic flavour.Like i said above this is a very different style of coffee compared to what i'm used to but after a few cups, even when it has gone cold it is still delicous. If you like your coffee you should try this.

Pipe Tobacco
I don't automatically associate pipe tobacco with coffee, so was intrigued when I saw it mentioned in the flavours. I don't usually mind the smell of pipe tobacco - although I don't smoke, myself - but it is a wee bit 'strange' to taste it whilst drinking my coffee. The chocolate and fruitiness are all there, and - I have to be honest - if i didn't know I should be tasting tobacco it would have taken me a while to pinpoint it.Nicely roasted beans, not all uniform (which is not a bad thing in my book), and packaged very well. Easy to re-seal and from which to expel any air. I grind them and use them in an AeroPress, and the coffee has worked brilliantly every time.I've taken one star off due to the 'weirdness' of the pipe tobacco thingy, but it work well with the overall experience. It's just going to take me a while to not be surprised about it.Very nice.
