Upbeat and "rocking" album
While the album is from the early 1980's and several songs are just "good fun" and/or straight-up love songs, there are several songs with definite social/relationship relevance in today's world. And who says there's anything wrong with "for fun", or "love songs"? :D

She's into more than country and folk music.
This is one of my all time favorites.

Joni is the musical genius of the 20th century!
I believe that Joni is all and more of my 'title'; however, I am disappointed in myselffor NOT being more careful in ordering this item -- I had assumed it was an audio CD ... and it turned out to be a cassette tape -- overpriced, indeed, since I just purchased the CD for $12.50 including shipping from BADLANDS.uk ...Joni Mitchell still 'shines' in SHINE despite the fact that her voicehas changed a great deal due to her addiction to American Spirit ...yet, every time I hear her, I get 'goosebumps'!!!!Thank you for all of it, Joni ... and, please give us more!

First Purchase
This is my first Joni Mitchell CD and I find it enjoyable and entertaining. I will be exploring more of her music based on this disc. I would agree with David Crosby's recent statement that she is the leading songwriter/singer of the time. Wishing and hoping she will have the best recovery possible from her recent medical event.

Joni Mitchell - highly inspiring woman of our time
I am a Joni Mitchell fan, no doubt about it. What can I say - she is inspiring and completely in touch with the inner workings of women born in the latter part of the 20th century. Thank you to Joni for sharing her mind and insight. This album speaks to me of the progression in my life. One must really listen and they can hear the wisdom and poetry in Joni Mitchell. She does not disappoint in this one.

Making Up For Lost Time
Joni Mitchell, for me, is the consumate singer/songwriter. I've been a fan since 1969.She has been part of the ongoing Soundtrack of my life. This is one album/CD, that I must have been asleep for , the year it came out. Other than this CD, and Chalk Mark...I have every one of her works.Perfect Joni. Now, I'm ordering Chalkmark...

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge ...
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Joni Mitchell fan and have many of her Cd's. But, something just doesn't sit well with this one. I think it's the whole "Hey Joni, MTV is here and maybe you should try to be Duran Duran". Give me any other of her CD's and I will not have a negative thing to say!

My Happy Album.
This album holds a really special place in my heart. It evokes very happy childhood memories, particularly from it being blasted outย in the car by my mother on road trips (i used to ask her to repeatedly play 'you're so square') now as a mother myself, i find myself listening to it frequently. It's in my top 3 all time favourite Joni albums & ive got em all! Actually the songs here have collective poetic poignancy that are quietly disguised by the populist style which is unapologetically uplifting. later in life, i learned that Joni got slated for selling out to commercialise her sound, but from my recollection, this album is a kind of evangelical poetry that even a child can connect with without any melancholy. It's become my happy album that i sing along & dance around to, at as loud a volume as i can get away with, as though i were still an 8 year old!

A Natural Evolution
It's difficult to envisage any Joni album ever coming close to rating as highly as 'Blue' does for me, but 'Wild Things' comes very, very close. While Blue has clear references to the folk and acoustic roots of the earlier album (1971), WTRF has a much more 'refined', jazz/rock fusion feel. As ever the lyrics dictate the music and it romps, tables and twists with her thoughts and reflections. Wild Things is no less captivating and personal than Blue - it's just different. Different feel, different influences - but still that clear, piping voice and clarity of expression. There'd be no point in an artist constantly reproducing 'variations on a theme' and expecting to hold an audience for fifty years, Joni Mitchell never bores, sometimes she confuses, sometimes she loses me, but she never, ever bores! What I find amazing is that some tracks which left me cold at one point in my life suddenly 'chime' as I approach decrepitude (or a close approximation thereof). I still rate 'Chinese Cafe' as an absolute classic track - especially for fans of new, fresh nostalgia - now THERE'S a contradiction! :)

An old favourite re-acquired.
This is to replace a copy lost in time. I can't believe that it has taken me so long to replace. There (in my mind), isn't a duff track.
