A collection of true stories from Jessie Gussman's newsletters.
Jessie Gussman's newsletters are a peak into her life on the farm with her family. She writes with such honesty, and transparency that you feel like you've been friends for years. One thing that stands out most is how important her relationship with Christ is, and that fragrance is carried through in these stories in the way she lives out her faith. Some of the recollections are sad, some are inspirational, some are spiritually challenging and the rest are usually a laugh a minute. If you enjoy memoirs (especially about farm life), need a scriptural pick-me-up or have penchant for humorous stories, you may enjoy this book

Lots of newsletters in one book
I love Jessie Gussman's sense of humor, and this book goes from one fun incident to the next. I appreciate the fact that running through it is her desire to reflect her faith through the way she lives.

Too funny!
This is a great story, I can believe every single thing and some I can relate to. One year we had snow drifts up to the bottom of a "window" in the old corn crib and my kids were able to get to the opening and jumping down into that huge snow drift and didn't break any bones! What a winter that was!

Enjoyable read!
I really enjoyed this book. I love the sense of humor and the outlook Jessie has about her life! I also am intrigued by her faith in God! I hope that anyone who reads this realizes that she tells it like it is, there are no perfect Christians living here on this earth, Thanks again for sharing your life.

Full of Laughter & Faith
I found this after reading her devotion book. I am signed up for her newsletter and they always make me laugh or think about what I can do to be a better Christian. Since she had been doing the newsletters for a while and I hadn't necessary read all of the stuff in these books I wanted to read them. I've been dealing with a lot of headaches so I can't read much but after spending a little time reading this each day I felt better. God knew I needed them. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. It may not help my head but it helps to take my mind off my troubles for a while. If you have never read her books you will ve in for a nice treat. There are times I can't put them down. God has given her a talent for writing and for making people laugh. Give her a try. You might be surprised.

Great book but ... poorly edited
The number of misspellings in this KINDLE version are atrocious. Where was the editor or proofreader? (I have no idea whose job that is) I have read at least thirty of Jessie Gussman's books and cannot remember any typos in those. In this book, multiple incidents of wander/wonder; breaks/brakes; angles/angels ... and I'm only 25% into the book. yikes. Looks like the book was dictated and spellcheck/autocorrect/autocorrupt took over. Yes, I can report content error, but no, I am not paid to do *this many* mistakes. Someone needs to do their job.Other than that, Chickens in Canaan Land is a wonderful, heart-warning book about life on her farm. I have learned more about mama cows than thought possible. :-)

Such A Great Look Into The Life Of Jessie Gussman
This has got to be one of the most hilarious books that I have ever read. I loved learning more about one of my favorite authors and her family. I receive Jessie’s news letters but I have to say I love having all of her stories in book form. If you want a great laugh you really need to get this book. Great Job Jessie and it would be so cool to hang out with you and your family.

If only living on a farm was really this much fun
I've been a fan of the author for quite a while. I subscribe to her newsletter and read each one. This book is a compilation of those newsletters. Although Jessie Gussman isn't known for her sense of humor,as she is a talented romance writer, she has a very good way with words in describing things happening in her life and it sounds like living on a farm with her family is one laugh after another. I know it is really hard work. But Jessie can see the humor in her every day life. I have always enjoyed her newsletters and I enjoyed re-reading them in this book. The author provided me with an ARC of the book. This is my honest review.
