Really works fast and economical and easy to use!
This is the one to get! I'd had a problem with small ants coming in along my kitchen baseboard, from under a cement slab beneath my apartment. I wanted to buy the kind of traps that will not only kill the ants that eat the bait, but will kill the rest of the colony with the poison the others bring back. It's also important to me that the traps be friendly for humans and animals. These traps do it all. The bait is solid, not liquid, but the solid does crumble and a bit will come off on whatever you use to punch the holes with. The holes in the traps allow the ants to enter. Bait is contained inside the trap, and you just punch holes along the perforations so the critters will smell the bait and come inside the trap. You'll need to use firm pressure with a throwaway pen, pencil, or wood stick to punch the holes. There is no smell that I noticed, and I am very chemically sensitive. I put out the traps January 27, and within 24 hours, I had a large number of ants on the floor, surrounding one of the four traps I put out along the wall where the ants had been coming in. Most seemed to be dead or barely moving. After I cleaned them away, over the next three days, I saw a minimal number of ants around some of the traps. Right away, I cleaned everything I found that wasn't moving or barely moving (I left the fast-moving ones to head back to the colony). By the fourth day, I saw NO ANTS at all. It's now Feb. 3 and I haven't seen a single ant since Jan. 31. I'm planning to leave the traps out for a month total, just in case. My experience has shown that the ants, once they ingest the poisoned bait, don't always make it back to the colony. Hence, the "stunned" or dead ones that I had to clean away. Obviously, enough made it back to the colony to bring the poison and kill the rest. Grade: A+ for effectiveness and convenience of use, and the traps are inexpensive (just under $10.00 for four of them).

Ant Carnage Everywhere
I thought about adding a picture, but that disrespects the ants. I had ants coming into my office from who knows where. Upon seeing the mass of ants on my desk, I ordered these almost immediately. I placed these out at the end of my work day and by the next morning, poor ant bodies everywhere. I feel sad and ashamed to be happy to witness this. At the same time, I'm glad they're gone. I pulled out my vacuum and cleared it out in no time. None have come back. The openings were supposed to be pre-perforated but challenging to open. I had to use a screwdriver and poke them open. I considered deducting a star for this, but I am reviewing its efficacy. It was effective and easy to use outside of popping the openings open. I do wish they came with optional adhesive tabs. So, for these reasons, I deducted a star from 'ease of use.'

They seem to work OK
Compared to other traps of this type, they seem to work slightly better. Placing a drop of liquid ant killer on them helps them to work better.

Useless
These did absolutely nothing. Don't waste your money.

Very effective
I had very tiny black ants that were getting in the house somehow. Virtually anything dropped on the floor that they liked would be covered with them shortly afterward. I had tried another brand that came with strips that you would squirt the solution onto and those did not work at all for me. This brand worked very quickly and very effectively, wiped out the entire ant colony wherever it was. When the warm weather returns I intend to try some of these on my outdoor patio where larger ants tend to show up. I like that the little metal containers are safe around pets and are so easy to set up . So from my experience I would highly recommend this.

Really works
Best thing to get rid of ants. I tried so many things before and nothing works like this. No smell and works fast.

Successfully Used These Baits
Easy to stick on a vertical wall to treat an ant trail. i have not had any problems with painted surfaces. The traps can be easily stuck to a ceramic floor to avoid accidental displacement. Easy to clean up.i have also successfully used these baits in shaded, dry outdoor areas in my courtyard. They have been effective.

Works Great!
We were killing ants (they love the dog food) for about 3 weeks with no end in sight. Finally we broke down and bought the ant bait. I put it out as soon as it came in (9pm) and spent an hour killing ants in the dog food, then moving it to the sink (we filled the sink it with just enough soapy water to keep ants from getting in or out). By the next morning the flood of ants had slowed to a river. And by 9pm it had slowed to a trickle. A certain percentage of the ants did pass up the bait and were looking for other food, so we made sure to kill anyone who passed the bait (otherwise we let them come and go to and from the bait). We also continued to kill the ants coming out of the dog food. The ones in the dog food lasted much longer than the ones outside.Within a couple days the ants were completely gone. It's only been a week or so since then, but there's no sign of them coming back and the bait looks like it's still got some in there. Also it came with 4 tins (and an extra in plastic) so there's plenty left for any new invasions. I really like that they are in metal containers that make it harder for the dog to get inside. But he does know how to throw things up in the air and knock the insides out, so I made sure to put it in the ant's path, but under a rolling cabinet that I knew he couldn't get under. I love that Ortho is American made as well. Only thing I'm not sure about is what do you do with the empty tin? Safe to throw away? Guess I have some research to do.Update: This worked great for the first 2 traps. Unfortunately, the newest batch of ants is ignoring the bait. Did the first batch not get fully wiped out and they learned? Dunno, but I'll be trying another brand in hopes they can take the bait again
