Kate 5x7ft Dark Blue Abstract Backdrops Microfiber Dark Blue Portrait Background for Photoshoot for Photography

This backdrop was absolutely perfect for what I needed it for. I bought the 5x7 beige, It definitely arrives super wrinkly but I have a clothing steamer and it made quick work of getting the wrinkles out. Overall, for the price, I would definitely say go for it!

This backdrop exceeded my expectations! I use professional Canon and Profoto equipment. I needed a red background to take publicity photos for a theater production of Sweeney Todd. I have recently been using the Westcott x-Drop Pro Stand, which is 8’x8’. I was hoping that it would fit, and it sure did! I used small clamps to attach it to the stands hooks. The backdrop color is muted, but responds beautifully when it is lit! In the picture below, I used a red gel to light the backdrop, which really made the color pop! The backdrop will allow backlight to go through it. But, when I am in that situation, I will hang it over my black background. The color it gives is worth it!

This one is nice but look at the top to photos for the "dark cyan". They are way different! Even the patterns are different and in person, more subtle. It's very nice though. On the web, one is very gray and the other a muted cyan. In person it's more of a paler blue. I bought 2 other patterns originally and loved them, ordered more, got them and ordered more! LOL! I now have nine! They are all very pretty & folds steam out quite easily. Quality is inconsistent. Four don't match the color or brightness of the samples. Two each had a vert small white blotch where the pattern was missing - easily photoshopped if it even shows. Three were not sewn straight, causing them to not hang perfectly straight. Of those, one is off enough to need replacing because even clips and weights can't make it hang straight. One had the tag fall off because wasn't sewn on right, which is no big deal, but speaks of the inconsistent sewing issues. Two had edges that had some extra on them where it wasn't cut straight - but that is minor, not causing issues but again speaks to quality control. Based on the above, they're actually very pretty & the two I've used so far did photograph very nicely. Because of the sample shots here being off in color and brightness, I did end up with some that are very similar in coloring, but they're all so pretty and the price was so good that they're definitely worth keeping, and I can always pair them to use one for the backdrop and a matching one for the floor to give me a full sweep/ :) Overall, I'm so excited to have such a nice variety of background options! Amazon is good about replacing them if any defect is bad enough to have to go back. I'll only buy them from Amazon because if you buy direct from kate, they'll only take returns for defects, so if you don't want two similars that looked different in the photos on line, but were actually close in color in person, then you're stuck. The pricing on Amazon is way less too. I tried to email "Kate" with a question about the color being off, but they didn't bother to read my email and just sent a canned response that was irrelevant to my question. So customer service is lacking as well as quality consistency, but they really are very pretty and the ones I've used so far have photographed very nicely and are a great value for the money on the 5x7s.

I just received this Kate backdrop and I’m already loving it! The color is rich and true to the photos, the material feels great, and the overall look is very professional. I haven’t had the chance to fully use it in a shoot yet, but I’m excited to see how it performs. So far, it feels like a high-quality product and a great addition to my photography setup. I’ll be sure to update my review after some long-term use!

I have several KATE backdrops and this one did not disappoint. I love this brand because they are well made. I buy the 5x7 version and hang them horizontal and vertical on my metal backdrop stand. The fabric is pleasing to the touch and the seams at the top are sewn correctly. For those of you that think you are going to open a package and not have to steam or iron it first I would like to introduce you to my mother. Of course you are going to have to iron it. I just found the perfect handheld steamer on Amazon and it was a very Zen experience steaming me denim colored backdrop. Kate is great.

The backdrop arrived with some serious wrinkles, but they ironed out for the most part. I had originally set it up on a stand in front of some windows and it was very difficult to see the color due to light passing through from the back. As you can see in my image, it appears washed out. Of course this has little effect on the final image if you're using a strobe, but it does make it difficult to see the actual color while you're composing/shooting. I resolved the situation by putting a black background behind it. Great value! and based on my experience with this, I have already ordered more Kate Backdrops.

I have a small home studio and use 107" seamless. I decided that I'd like to use printed backdrops for a few projects so I bought this Kate backup to try as it was so affordable. I liked the look of it when I took it out of the bag it came in. The colors were what I expected, the quality was more than I expected and it has a sewn top that my backdrop bar easily slides through to hold it. It was creased from having been folded for shipping, so I ironed it as per Kate's direction. Didn't help at all. Then I washed it and put it into the dryer on low as per the instructions on the website. No help. Then I put it on my stand for over a week. Nope. Finally I used a tip I found on YouTube and used a spay bottle to wet the creases. Then, as a last resort, I put it back into the dryer on high heat. It worked! It's not perfect, but its certainly good enough. It also helps that in addition to hanging it, I have used A clamps from my backdrop stand to the cloth to stretch it out horizontally. One last note... When I just couldn't get the wrinkles out, I sent a note to Kate's through their website. That was a week ago and no response.

I wasn't expecting this backdrop to be so thick! It's perfect! Great quality, it has a spot at the top to put the bar through the top or it can be hung by hooks. The colour looks just like the picture; Great thickness, can't see through. If you're going to iron it, iron on the white side, or steam it to get out folding lines. The 5×7 is perfect for children and baby photography.

All Kate backdrops are good! As a photographer they are my go to.

Good quality and photographs nicely. A bit on the lighter shade in photos but still beautiful pictures.
