Timer review
I bought 1st a different timer and later 3 of these. The blue one is working fine a few weeks into service. I use this timer to drip irrigate from a tub onto an individual tree until it can get established. My mountain soil is so poor it passes water through fast and wont retain moisture. This timer doesn't require water pressure- it just opens and shuts. Adjustable down to once per hour and as little as one minute. I get three days of watering repeatedly through out the days. You do have to watch them and make adjustments. That 1st one, a green different brand, is giving me trouble. These blue ones, once dialed in, are working with out any issues. Uses two AAA batteries. There is no clock to set. Time starts upon setting- three blinks to say ok and occasional blinks regularly timed to indicate 'all's well'. Good price and quick shipping. I'm pleased with them. Look at my photo to see the setup. A tub with flat sides, a bulk head fitting or a drain fitting for a swamp cooler-same thing, sprinkler fittings and away you go. I have on the very end a round drip fitting with a 1/16" hole in it to slow watering down even more but you don't need that. Literally 1 minute once per 2 or 4 hours will suffice. Try it out for newly planted trees or shrubs. I had an orange tree and watered by hand every day but it just stayed alive and got smaller. With this setup I have, now it's put on new growth, looks like it will make it now.

Worked for a short period, then not
I bought and installed this last summer as I was going on an extended trip and needed my plants watered. It worked fine while I was away for two weeks - at least, the plants looked as if they'd been watered. I have no idea how many days it actually functioned, but whatever it had done was enough. When I returned from my trip I took it off the hose, took the batteries out, and packed it away in a temperature-controlled storage unit for the rest of the year. I have just taken it out of storage with plans to re-install it on my drip system only to find it no longer functions. I have used three different sets of batteries, but the unit simply does not power on. It appears that the wires are still connected to the battery posts (my first thought was that a wire had come loose). It's a shame, really, as I only was able to use it for two weeks. It definitely did what I needed for it to do for those two weeks. I would ask the vendor for a replacement, but doubt they'd provide one after this long of a time. EDIT: Excellent customer service. The vendor responded to my review and sent a replacement unit. It's been raining cats-and-dogs here since it arrived so I have not been able to see if this one is working, but will place it in the garden at my earliest convenience (and inside a plastic bag to hopefully help keep it dry). I will report how well it works sometime thereafter. But for now, this vendor provides excellent customer service - some of the best I've come across on Amazon.

UPDATED: Didn’t last 6 months
After posting the below review, the manufacturer reached out to me and offered a full refund. I asked if I could get a replacement instead, and they sent one out right away. Within two days I had a new timer and am once again really happy with how it’s working for me. 5+ stars for customer service, and the timer really is a nice one. I originally really loved this timer, it worked great and did exactly what I needed it to. However, after 5 months it stopped working. I was hoping it just needed new batteries, but it was completely dead. There is no warranty information anywhere on either amazons site or the manufacturers site. So it appears I’m stuck with trying to find a timer that will hopefully last at least long enough for the batteries to run down.

Good timer, but...
Excellent design and super easy to set-up. The cover has a nice seal that should protect it from water getting inside. I am concerned about the clear plastic cover being blasted by sunlight every day. I suspect that it will wear and be less clear after a summer. I plan on turning it upside down to try to prevent so much sun exposure. I would have given this product 5 stars, but the timer doesn't start after programming it, but rather at the end of the frequency interval that it's set at, so if the timer is set for every 72 hours, it won't start for 3 days! This is a really stupid thing to overlook, as you may not be around to see it working and to adjust the flow settings. I've never seen a water timer that does this, and it really is an inconvenience to the user who is trying to set up their irrigation. I would have ordered more of these timers right now had it not been for this feature that doesn't allow the user to confirm the settings in the beginning. I will have to see if the product delivers over time before ordering any more. Otherwise, it's a sleek and easy timer for the garden.

Unfortunately the timer part stopped working - UPDATED
UPDATED: Company was very responsive to negative review and gave full refund. We are going to try another one of their timers this time. I really like the simple design of the analog timer and it seems well-built, but... I've had it installed in the shade, and it worked for 2 months before I noticed that my plants hadn't been watered for over a week (rain barrel not going down). Interestingly, the valve still opens or closes if I select that option manually, but the timer (set to every 48 hrs) doesn't seem to be working any longer. This may be the biggest downside of the analog setup as there is no way to tell if the timer is ticking down towards another watering. Difficult to troubleshoot. I'm going to try some other time intervals (every 24 hrs vs every 72 hrs) to see if they might still work, but I think I'll opt for a digital display one as a replacement.

Does the job -- kind of
Since I am running a timer from a rain water barrel, selection is quite limited. This timer works well with the low pressure scenario of rain water barrel, but the timer functionality has a pretty big flaw. The timer seems to only start to count down after the run time has ended. I did the following at 6pm starting out: Run Time set to 30 minutes and Frequency set to 12 hours. It did not activate when I initially set it, which I found odd, but didn't dwell on it too much. Checked it at 6am the following morning and it's running. Great! Checked it again at 6pm, and it isn't running. Hmm. Reset it as above, again... Checked at 6am following morning, running. Again, 6pm, nope... So I waited and checked periodically. 6:30pm it kicks on. So Frequency is not 12 hours from when the last run time started, but ended. I would not recommend this timer unless literally all other timer for no pressure work the same. If/when this timer fails, I will not be buying again. I've seen a low/no pressure timer from Toro get recommended in a few places, I'd likely go that route if I knew what I know now. Oh, I also had to add a extra rubber gasket into the fitting, as the gasket provided allowed the connection to leak. Luckily I had a couple spares.

Perfect for my rain barrel.
Easy directions. Perfect for my rain barrel that has no water pressure. Worked through the whole garden season with zero issue.

Gets brittle/cracks in the sun.
Timer works great. I liked it enough that I ordered two of them. However one was in full sun outside for about 4 months time hooked up to the hose. This one developed tinny hair cracks that leak when it turns on and is under pressure. The only thing I can think is the plastic got brittle and cracked due to being in the sun and heat. Yes I like its simplicity and for the time it worked it worked well. But at the end of the day it only lasted 4 months before becoming trash. That’s not okay for a product that is supposed to be outside.

works well
Works as advertized, i.e. especially no water pressure on the feeding line is required. And yes, after setting the opening time and repeat interval, the first opening will only occur after the first repeat interval has elapsed.

Disappointed with this timer.
I purchased 2 of these timers and they turned up fairly promptly. Unfortunately after fitting the two onto low pressure outlets one leaked profusely through the battery compartment. The other one at this point seems ok. So far the Yardeen water timer is one up on the 3 malfunctioning Toro timers I’ve purchased in the past.
