Men's Lightweight Hiking Shoes

The shoes really look nice but I just couldn't wear them. I usually wear size 8.5. That size was not available so I ordered size 9. Even those were way too small. My toes were completely squished. No way I could wear them. Returned for refund.

I'm pretty impressed with this shoe. I have a bit of a sport shoe fetish, so I'm very particular about my shoes. Functionally, these are very good. Considering their price, I think these are some of the best shoes around. I've jogged through my damp woods with no moisture getting to my feet. And they are very comfortable to just walk around in. The fit is excellent. However, there are a couple of weird/annoying things that keep me from rating them 5 stars.First, and most annoying, is the top eye hooks. Yes, eye hooks. They don't belong on a shoe like this. While these are high-tops, I don't consider them a boot, and a boot is the only thing that should have eye hooks. They regularly catch on each other when I cross my feet at my desk, and they also catch on other things.Second, the tongue is really, really big. It's a bit odd. I'm not sure it provides anything functional over a standard shoe. It catches my pant cuffs and I regularly have to pull the cuffs over the tongue.Third, and this is really just an observation. There's this weird eye design on the shoe where your foot goes in. I mean a literal eye. It seems weird. Doesn't really bother me, but I'm wondering what it means because it seems out of place with the rest of the aesthetics.

Love these shoes. I purchased them for a camping/hiking trip with the family. We have a 4, 7 and 9 year old so I didn't need any real expensive hiking boot, just wanted something better than my typical running shoes. These were perfect.Sole was firm enough for the rocks we went over and they were surprisingly warm in cold temps. The temps got pretty cold on our trip and these things were great. And they're not too hot either. When temps warmed up I had no issues with my feet getting too hot. I literally wore these things morning to night. I would put them on when I got up and didn't take them off until I went to bed, no issues what so ever.So far they have held up really well and seem to be pretty well constructed. I did put some sealer my wife had for her boots on them as recommended and all is good there.These are my new favorite shoes I'll definitely be getting them again, and I recommend them to anyone wanting something between a running shoe and boot, or someone just wanting a really cool shoe.I generally wear 11 US and that's what I ordered. Nike's I wear an 11.5 and some dress shoes I wear a 10.5, but on average I'm an 11. When I first put these on I though they were a little too snug and thought I may need an 11.5, but I wore them the whole day before our trip and they broke in perfect, almost conformed to my foot. They are still snug, but I believe that's by design as you don't want a hiking shoe/boot to slip around on your foot, and I think it also helps contribute with the warmth.Great shoe. Highly recommended.

I’m a big fan of Rax shoes. On my second pair now, which is the low top. My first pair, high top, still in great condition, I had bought for winter/wet season. Working a Christmas Tree Farm for over twenty-five years, it has been a struggle to not only find a pair of shoes/boots that can hold up to prolonged intense labor activities, under extreme weather conditions, heat/cold, but to find something that is comfortable in all day! I walk an average of 8 miles a day, across tough terrain. The soles have held up great providing superior traction and ankle support. The nose of the shoe seems barely worn. At the end of the day my feet don’t hurt at all and I can’t wait to put them on the next day. I regularly clean them up and wear them out and about around the city for casual attire. When searching on Amazon for hiking boots, I didn’t quite know exactly what I wanted but I knew I didn’t want anything that I’ve seen before. I was looking for something different, something out of the norm, something that fits my lifestyle of both city and farm life. Rax’s Shoes provides exactly that. They look like basketball shoes, comfortable as slippers and hold up just as good as my Carhart steel-toes. I even bought my girlfriend a pair. Can’t wait to get my third pair!

I’ll update on durability if there’s any issues. If no update is added then everything is all good! I love these shoes after wearing them for a day at work! They’re super comfortable and provide great grip even on wet surfaces. They do seem slightly smaller than all of the other shoes I have in a 10.5. With that said the fit is snug but still very comfortable and I think they’ll loosen up as shoes do anyways. They’re not so snug to justify going up half a size in my opinion and I wear a wide, so it should be fine if you don’t. My only gripe is that the tongue of the shoe is a bit obnoxious. Definitely not a big enough deal to deduct a star. I’ll be buying more Rax products in the future!

I have several pair from a few years ago and this new pair are a little smaller. I ordered 9.5 as before but wish I had 10's.. under circumstances I will keep these for around the house and not for rugged hiking or activities. Go a half size larger for comfort.

So far, so good. I live in the Chicagoland area and there has been a lot of snow falling and then melting this year. I wanted to have a pair of shoes that were both waterproof and looked decent for walking around the city. These shoes accomplished that goal. On top of that, they are MUCH more comfortable than I expected them to be. It's like walking on clouds.The only downside to these shoes so far is that the tongue of the shoe is very large and often gets in front of the front of my pants. I suppose that's just a personal preference though. Overall I would recommend these shoes to anyone asking.
