Beautiful brass, simple clean compass. Husband loved as a 21st anniversary gift.

Purchased this as a gift for a friend who built his own outdoor sundial in his back yard. He loved it and takes it to punk his friends when they ask "what time is it?" It is well constructed, the case is superior, and it all arrived packaged tightly and carefully. The built-in compass and adjustable parts impressed him, and he quickly tested it. I know he'll enjoy it for many years.

This is my second purchase of the Antique Silver Compass. I like mine and wear it with my pocket watch chain (instead of a watch) for hiking and etc. My niece decided she wants to use it all the time - so, she can now have her own - random gifting. The wooden box is well made and a great way to store it - also something kids into pirate type treasure and neat boxes will enjoy. It is not the most stable/accurate item for heavy camping but it looks great, works just fine, and great for local hiking.* Note: This compass does not have a rotating bezel - which doesn't bother me - just be aware of that.

For the price this is a nice product that does work, so far. The case makes it an easy gift, though it does take up more space than an actually 'outdoors' enthusiast might want to give up. I'd say this is more of a token for a hobbyist rather than a serious outdoorman/survival kit item.That said, It IS a working, good sized compass. The little sand timer is purely for cosmetics, which I wish I had known as that was an extra item that made me choose to order THIS particular one. The 'sand' in the hourglass pours through freely from one side to the other within a second, so it has no actual function. You could put it on a key chain for decoration and that's about all.Pros: Working compass, looks nice in person, makes a nice hobbyist gift setCons: Case isn't really practical and has somewhat cheap materials used. The hourglass timer doesn't function as a timer and is more of a keychain bauble.

Loved it

The box itself is chipped and broken, posing a risk of splinters. The latch is rusted and weak, and the box doesn’t open fully. Additionally, the velvet inside the lid is scratched. The compass doesn't clasp properly, and its glass is chipped. I can't believe they sent me this product and thought it was acceptable.

Nice compass only thing with brass scratches easily was advised to clean with Peak cleaner not Braso

Gorgeous classic look. Didn’t come with the leather pouch promised. It is heavy. Not for a child.

The back of it is plastic so when we got it we couldn’t get it engraved, looked like brass in the picture! I we feel scammed and insulted, manufacturer should be ashamed
