Clovis Crawfish and His Friends

I grew up in South Louisiana. Clovis Crawfish was one of my favorite books as a kid, not only for the wonderful "kid friendly" illustrations but also the fun and lively life lessons that each imparted. Cajun French is a identifier of the diverse communities found within Southern Louisiana, from Lafayette to Lake Arthur, Church Point to Morgan City you will hear snippets of dialogue filtered into any conversation. Mary Alice Fontenot introduced young kids to Cajun French in such a way that they would become interested in learning more french words, to approach their Mawmaw and Pawpaw and ask them to speak French to them. Such a wonderful series!! Highest recommendation.

If you are looking for something different for your children, this is it. The wonderful adventures of Clovis Crawfish are great for any age. I am buying the whole series a book at a time for my new grandson, and by the time he can read, I hope to have them all. Great way to learn about Louisiana bayou life. An unusual set of books - nothing else out there like them.
