Really good
I enjoyed the first book of this series. I liked the characters and will see how they develop. I've read quite a few series in similar locale. Might be a place to visit one day. I hope the series continues to be as interesting.

Delightful!
This was the first book I have read from these two and it won’t be the last! A gripping mystery plot while introducing DCI Tom Raven and his team. The twists and turns will keep you well entertained! Enjoy.

British Murder Mystery
I enjoyed this book for the location descriptions, the intricate plot & a couple of the main characters although DCI Ravens character needed more fleshing out. Hopefully this will come in future books. Overall an interesting story line.

Enjoyed the book from start to end
The book kept you engaged throughout the book. The characters were well developed and am looking forward to more adventures in the next books

Meh.
There’s nothing about it to recommend this book. The inciting incident—London DI reluctantly moves to the country—have been done and overdone. As has the plot. None of the characters is someone you’d want to have dinner with. This surprised me. I’ve read and enjoyed the Bridget Hart books, and assumed a consistency from the authors. It’s not horrible or embarrassing; I did read it all the way through. But having met Tom Raven, I’ll skip on further contact.

Wow
I really enjoyed this first book of the series. I don’t know if the author has written anything before this, but TLOD was really solid. Intricate plot, and characters one can relate to. Excited to start the next book.

good procedural
The focus is on the crimes with some personal data - but not too much. I will certainly check out the next in this series

Good start!
This is a satisfying read, interesting characters, well-described setting, believable plot. I have enjoyed the Oxford series and hope the Yorkshire series is as good.

Exceptional
I simply cannot believe that this was written by the same folks who authored the series about the rather superficial and drab Bridget Hart. What a difference. So satisfying!

Excellent!!
Can hardly wait for book number 2!! Mystery to the end, complex with dabs of romance and a past that was finally buried.
