Excellent Choice for Comfort and Support
I recently purchased these, and I must say, they have exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, fit, and overall quality. As someone with flat feet, finding the right pair of shoes can be a challenge, but these shoes have been a game-changer for me.First and foremost, the sizing of the Moab 3 was spot on. I decided to go half a size up to provide some extra toe room, and I'm glad I did. Despite the slight increase in size, the shoe still offers a snug fit around the heel, ensuring excellent support and stability. The extra room in the toe area did not compromise the overall comfort in any way.One of the standout features of these shoes is their substantial build combined with lightweight design. The Moab 3 feels durable and well-constructed, making it suitable for various terrains and activities. However, what surprised me the most was how incredibly lightweight they are. This aspect not only enhances the overall comfort but also prevents the shoes from feeling heavy and cumbersome, particularly during long walks or hikes.Additionally, these shoes excel in breathability, making them ideal for hot climates. Even in scorching temperatures, my feet remained cool and dry thanks to the excellent ventilation and moisture-wicking properties of the materials used. This feature adds to the overall comfort and prevents any discomfort or sweating that can occur in warmer environments. What truly sets the Merrell Men's Moab 3 apart is the fact that they require little to no break-in period. From the moment I put them on, they felt incredibly comfortable as if they were custom-made for my feet. This is a significant advantage, especially for those who need a reliable pair of shoes right out of the box.In conclusion, I highly recommend these shoes, particularly for individuals with flat feet seeking exceptional comfort, support, and durability. The added half size for extra toe room did not compromise the fit, and the shoes maintain a snug feel around the heel. The lightweight design and impressive breathability make them perfect for warm climates. Moreover, the lack of a break-in period ensures instant comfort and convenience. Overall, these shoes have become one of the most comfortable pairs I have ever worn, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.ChatGPT 4UserIf I am 44.5 in Asics, 44 2/3 Adidas, 44 Salomon, 43.5-44 Sketchers. For gravel terrains I advise not taking this one as it kets gravel inside and chose sonething with higher *cutions*. The extra half size akso did not help in the descent as the foot tends to slip forward torturing the toes. My Merrell Men's Moab 3 shoes, which had previously impressed me, were put to the ultimate test during this experience.Firstly, the shoes maintained their exceptional comfort and fit throughout the climb. Their warmth was a boon in the chilly conditions, yet they remained remarkably breathable, which was crucial for such a strenuous journey. However, the descent, particularly on the rough terrain of the Subashiri route, proved challenging for the shoes' outer material. Despite losing its tint, the shoes' durability was commendable, showing great potential for many more adventures. For those venturing into gravel terrains, I would advise against this model. The shoes have a tendency to allow gravel intrusion, which can be quite uncomfortable. A different pair with higher protections or 'cushions' might be more suitable for such conditions. An important note on sizing – I originally went half a size up for extra toe room, which seemed beneficial initially. However, during the descent, this choice led to my feet slipping forward, causing discomfort to my toes. This is something to consider for those planning similar downhill treks.Original Review Summary:Spot-on sizing with extra toe room, providing comfort without compromising fit.Lightweight and durable, suitable for various terrains.Excellent breathability, ideal for hot climates.Little to no break-in period needed for immediate comfort. Conclusion:The Merrell Men's Moab 3 are still highly recommended, especially for those with flat feet seeking comfort and support. While they excel in breathability and lightweight design, one should be cautious about the size choice for downhill treks and the potential for gravel intrusion on certain terrains. Overall, these shoes have shown remarkable durability and comfort, making them a worthy investment for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Sturdy, comfortable
I wore these shoes backpacking through Europe for two months. I walked hundreds of kilometers, including highly rugged terrain in the High Tatras and the Albanian Alps. They have held up the entire time with no signs of damage. They have great grip and saved my ankles more than once after an awkward slip. They’re very comfortable and I can honestly say my feet barely ever felt sore, even after walking 25km trails. I hiked through mountains, as well as walking for hours on concrete and cobblestone European streets, and I found they worked perfectly for both scenarios. These versions are not waterproof, but I find they’re pretty resistant and it takes a lot to get soaked. They dry relatively quickly as well. The downsides: They’re hot and stuffy. You need merino wool socks, and even then my feet got pretty sweaty. They have a reputation as true-to-size and fast to break in, but I found this wasn’t true. I went a size up. The worst aspect by far is the soles, which are weirdly low quality and simply must be replaced with inserts. But you should do that anyway if you’re hiking. They’re also quite ugly if you care about appearance. But again, they are for hiking that’s not a concern for me.I highly recommend these shoes, especially because they are frequently on sale. They were $50 on Amazon when I purchased them. For the quality, the comfort, the durability and the price, I think they are great shoes; especially if you want no-fuss shoes that work for urban walking and outdoor hiking.

Sizes Run Small (Moab 3 Hiking Boots/shoes)
First time to purchase and keep Merrell shoes. The previous two pair were too small.I wear size 8-8.5 shoes. I did purchase a pair of 9's once before, and they were large. These fit slightly tight, but, a simple readjustment of the shoe-strings, to be looser, should correct that.I'm not wealthy enough to be able to afford a pair of shoes at $100+ so, it is good to get well made shoes at a semi-affordable price. (Considering cost of producing a pair of shoes is about $10, I have to still question the $50 range; but, seeing the gouging at the stores-- where they have to pay exhorbent rents, I guess it stands to reason). Thanks Amazon for creating an atmosphere of extreme competition.Workmanship: 91/100The shoes themselves seem to be solid shoes. Not old school solid; but, definitely look to be light years ahead of the rest out there. As far as that goes, that allows them to squeak by with an A- score. The soles are some of the best I have ever seen. I doubt they'll wear down any time soon. The soles are reminiscent of the tread on breand new tires: nice and thick, with superior traction.Style: 95/100I did not particularly care for the color or look from the picture. What I wanted was functioning shoes, at a reasonable or at least relatively reasonable cost. What I received, however, was something much nicer looking than the pictures appeared to be; although, looks and appeal are in fact in the eye of the beholder. However, this "beholder's" eyes were pleasantly surprised, and pleased.Value: 80/100Once again, when it cost about $10 a pair to make, and pay the toddlers in China a dollar a day (or less), I find it hard to consider $60-100/pr "value". Based on that alone, no, there's absolutely no beneficial value to consumers. However, add expected durability, and comparable prices, and, the fact prices are much lower on Amazon, I can concede the point. There is therefore, perceived value, which is at play; therefore, considering the prices people are willing to pay for shoes, 30-60% lower prices adds value to the consumer.I have mentioned typical retail prices. $100+ for these shoes; would they still hold to a higher value? In this case, the value would be held in quality, and whether they hold up; which I do believe they will, based on what others who are more familiar with this brand than I am, have said. In this case, yes, I would still give the shoes a high rating. If a pair of shoes lasts several (2-3) years and hold up, then the price tends to become downgraded. For example, when I was in my youth, and Reebok's were taking off, I purchased a pair that lasted but a few months; thereby increasing my shoe budget. If these hold up even for two years, the value is increased greatly.Overall: 92/100These shoes do have a stout feel to them. The biggest downside I can realize is they run smaller and tighter than I am used to, While I am at the beginning of my journey with Merrell shoes, I anticipate a much longer journey with them, and that is a good thing.Recommendation: Until further notice, I highly recommend these shoes; while wishing they run wide and more in line with standard shoes.

Amazingly Comfortable
Merrell's have always been super comfortable and have a perfect fit, without needing that 'break-in' period where either your foot or your shoe defeats the other. That these come in Wide make it extra comfortable for myself. The WP / Gore-tex layer has kept the melting snow from reaching me, though as light hikers (and non-mids), gaiters are need to avoid snow getting into the socks.Great stuff.
