If you're new to Freestyle Libre 3, they no longer come with a protective bandage. You need this.
Update April 25,2024:I have continued to use these bandages since February and all but one have lasted the entire 14 days and were not coming off at all. The only time one fell off was on vacation after being in the ocean/pools, very active, and using LOTS of sunscreen and lotion. And that one lasted 10 days.I can go without a bandage over my sensor if I'm just living my everyday life. There is a pretty serious little strip of adhesive on the bottom and around the base of it. I can pull hard and it will come off, but it's not wimpy. It looks nicer to just have the little white disk than to have even the clear bandage. I don't like that the bandage collects lint around the outer edge from cloths, sheets, etc . It makes the bandage look dirty. But most bandages do that no matter what color or manufacturer. If you wear the same one for 2 weeks, it's going to collect lint.I still won't take off a star. If I'm traveling or doing things outdoors, I need to protect my sensor or it will get knocked out. With insurance each sensor costs $37. This definitely protects it well and stays put.__________I chose Subscribe and Save and the total with tax was less than $17. There are 25 in the box so about $.68 each. You want to be careful, but if you ruin a couple while learning, you have plenty left. This box should last quite a while. I'm new to this, but apparently Abbott used to include some kind of adhesive cover to help protect the sensor. They don't anymore, but there is adhesive on the bottom of the sensor..My first one of these bandages has been on for about 30 hours. I've showered and lived my life normally. If my experience changes I will update my review. Overall I'm happy so far. Many adhesives make my skin turn read and swell up. These have not. It's staying in place and shows no signs of falling off any time soon. My sensor is working exactly as it did when it was not covered. I don't love having a probe in, or a bandage on my arm all the time, but I'm learning so much about how my body is impacted by food, sleep, stress, hydration, activity. No way to get this kind of data from finger sticks. They have value, but this is so much better. You need to wash the area around your sensor and use an alcohol wipe before you put on a bandage. Even if you think you're clean you need to do this. If you don't, you won't be happy with this or any of them. If you have someone to help you place it, they're really easy to put on. But even if you don't, take your time and think through it and you'll get it on there.I read a lot of reviews on this and similar products before purchasing these. I'm addressing some of the complaints I saw.People said it's too hard to put on if you don't have help. It actually would be challenging to put on by yourself, but it can be done if you just create a process that's logical. So while the complaint is valid, nobody should be taking off stars for this. Unlike the pictures in the ads and TV commercials, the FSL3 doesn't go on your bicep where it is easy to see and manipulate. It goes in your tricep--the back part of your upper arm. Seeing and manipulating it is challenging--mostly not a big deal except that you need to cover it. If you don't you're likely to damage it or knock it out of your arm entirely. No matter what bandage you buy, you're only going to have one hand free to apply it.You can use 2 hands to prepare the bandage to be placed by your 1 free hand. Use a handheld mirror. Lay it on a counter or table then bend your arm up so that your wrist is next to your ear and hold your tricep area over the mirror. You should have really clear and close up view of your sensor. Use both of your hands to follow the instructions and get the bandage ready apply. From there you'll need to carefully place the bandage into your free hand so you can place it over your sensor using the mirror to guide you. Everyone's process will be a little different but I suggest sitting or standing where it's well-lit and you have space to lay out what you need and can be comfortable. You can do this without help.People complained that the bandage didn't stay on. If you don't clean and prep the skin first, it won't stay on for very long. If you have oily skin, you'll have to change it more often. That is also not the fault of the product or the manufacturer. No adhesive can stick to oil. That's why everyone should wash the area with soap and water, then wipe with rubbing alcohol and let that dry for 10 seconds or so.People complained that it wasn't durable. It can't take banging into or scraping/rubbing across things. No, it can't. If you have a sensor like this in your arm, you have to make some changes so you don't destroy it. A bandage isn't going to make it life-proof. This or any bandage is only going to help protect it from falling out or being pulled out easily. You still have to be a little careful taking off your shirt, drying off with a towel, and try not to bang into things with that part of your arm. It's a thin layer of bandage. it's not armor.I bought the clear ones. There were several color options. I like it be as invisible as possible.

Great product for keeping my sensor usable.
I made the mistake of swimming in a salt water pool and my sensor went bad. My friend told me about this product. I use it now every two weeks and I can enjoy swimming knowing my sensor is protected from the elements.

They really stick!
I've tried them all and these by far stick the best. Normally I have to change these out once or twice as they start to peel. These did great!

Not as water resistant as I hoped
Holds sensors in place but doesn't last the full 14 days as my sensor. With showers and workouts, it gives out before sensor. I have been using it for a while and the patch really are not lasting against water or sweat. They are getting lose after the first day. Definitely better brands out there for price.

Not bad, not great...
Adheres for the first week, then the edges start rolling up. If you roll over in bed when this starts, it comes off more and more until you just have to take it off.Still better than nothing, but better adhesive would be nice.

Not impressed
I thought I did enough research to settle on these. 1st...none of colors in the multicolor shown come in the package. 2nd..these are 100% NOT waterproof. After taking a shower and making sure not to get it saturated, the edges still came up. 3rd...the patch started lifting after day 2. In the end, I would not recommend or buy again.

Excellent cover lasts a full 14 days
I have used other covers before, and these ones are as rugged and long lasting as I need. I swim 2-3 times a week, hike, bike and golf for multiple hours each and sweat. So far so good. I have not yet tried the clear version which I also purchased and will use next week. This version has a no-stick area in the middle the size of the sensor (my previous versions had stickiness all over). It’s easy to apply, and if for some reason you needed to take it off and replace the non-stick Centre would make it easier to remove w/o pulling off the sensor from my arm. Will buy again.Update: I have now tried the clear version:It is almost impossible to apply the clear, plastic-wrap-like version of this without major wrinkles all over. And, I don’t really see the purpose of a see-through cover vs the tan fabric version. That said, the clear version sticks well and has lasted a full 14days as well. I’ll use up the clear package, but will prefer the tan-fabric product.

Great patches
These patches stick really well and prevent the sensor from getting knocked. They are a bit tricky to put on and are easier with someone else putting them in place, due to the awkward angle on arms. However, unlike normal plasters, tape etc, they stay secure for the duration of the sensor, despite swimming, working etc, so each pack will last a long time!Would definitely recommend and will buy them again.

Poor adhesive
Perfect size, great shade colour and the only problem is the adhesive. One side doesn’t seem to even stick. Defeats the whole purpose of a protective cover for the sensor. They should send a replacement box as it’s a waste of time to have to repackage and go to the post office to return and too expensive to replace daily.
