Inexpensive and powerful
I’ve had these binoculars for about a week. I’ve tested them in both daylight and in the night sky. These are not the very best binoculars I’ve used, but they are really great for the price point. The tiny size allows them to easily fit into my pocket, with a nice case for protecting the lenses and structure. I accidentally dropped these while removing from the box, and the impact did not impair the performance. I’m unsure why some of the comments stated these are not durable; I found the opposite to be true. I even poured some water over them to be sure if these are water resistant as claimed, and they passed the test. It is normal that each eye will have a slightly different focus--more so as you get older. My vision is positive on one side and negative on the other, to the extremes. I’ve had issues with some binoculars in the past where the separate focusing for each lens did not have the range where I could adjust to get a clear image using both eyes. This set of binoculars has separate focusing capability with enough variance that I can get a clear image for both eyes, which is great considering they are not top-of-the-line expensive. Some of the comments are stating these don’t work, and it could be that the focusing process is not understood. To adjust the view, you must hold the binoculars with the joining bar facing upward. You need to expand the binoculars to the maximum width, close your right eye, and use only the left eye to bring the left lens into focus using the center wheel. The right lens has an additional focusing ring around the eyepiece. Closing the left eye, use the focusing ring around the right eyepiece to bring into focus for the right eye. When both sides are focused, hold the binoculars with both eyes open and bend both eyepieces in closer until the images merge into a single image. That single image should be clear. If that’s not the case, repeat the process. When viewing an image at a different distance than previously, I have to repeat the process of individually focusing to get a clear image. This has worked every time for me. I like that these do not have the large cuffs over the eyepieces like on some other binoculars I’ve used. Those large cuffs will press against my eyelashes when brought in close and make the viewing experience uncomfortable. If I can’t get the eyepieces close enough to my eyes, there is too much shaking when trying to hold the binoculars in my line of sight, and the image is not stable enough to enjoy. I’m able to get these binoculars close to my eyeballs without that discomfort to my eyelashes, which makes the image clear and is not nearly as unstable as other binoculars. The annual Geminids meteor showers is current active, so I spent a few hours to see if these enhanced the view. It was difficult to keep up with the meteors shooting through the sky, but what I was able to see was impressive. These also bring in the details of the moon quite clearly, sometimes with enough brightness I have to look away. I think these are a great value and operate fine for both kids and adults. They have enough power to help you see distant images much better than with the naked eye. If they do get damaged after a while, which often will happen with anything you use, at least you haven’t invested a lot of money.
