Not what I was looking for at all.
This was more a glossy advertisement for different distilleries than the story of gin. The drunken botanist is so much better!

Glaring Inaccuracies
The timeline on the history of gin is ridiculous. Many facts, yes, but also several poorly researched assertions. The idea that the first cocktail to use fruit juice wasn’t produced until the 20th century (the author claims it was the Bronx) is preposterous to anyone who has ever read Wondrich, which is an irony given the author actually cites Wondrich at other points. Did no one fact-check this?Apparently not. No one proof-read it either. Skip this.

I guess they couldn't afford a proof reader...
Typos abound, which could have been fixed simply by running spell check; some entries appear twice as well. Didn't anyone look at the file before it went to the printers? Didn't anyone look at any proofs? Also cheaply printed and bound (and I say this as someone in the business for 30 years).

Restituito
Prodotto restituito, all'interno contiene molte descrizioni dettsgliate su alcuni marchi importanti di gin, ma non consigli pratici per quanto mi riguarda. Non era ciò che cercavo io personalmente. Restituito

Quite disappointed
OK. Gin has moved on a lot since this book. A little outdated. Quite disappointed
