This is a remarkable journal that is really beautiful and inspires at the same time. Arrived in a very nice protective pouch - a wonderful touch - and in perfect shape. Everything seems very well made. The paper is easy to write on despite it being deckle edged.

I love my new book! I've used gel pens and art pens in it and nothing has bled through. The pages are smooth so every pen I've used glides easily over the surface. With 100 sheets (200 pages) there's plenty of room. The cover has a nice feel and the stone on the front is beautiful. The price was a bargain for what I got! There is nothing about this book that disappointed.

The media could not be loaded.  I was so happy to start a new journal. I sat down and wrote the date with the new pen I bought especially for journaling. I was all set; coffee, water and pen. I was on my way to my first journal entry in years. I was quickly interrupted by something one of my elderly parents needed. When I got back to my room I was further distracted by another news story about ¿George Santos?. I have adult onset chronic pain related ADHD. I get distracted...a lot. As I sat back down I heard my 8 month old huskie pulling on something with his teeth. He was really having a good chew and I figured he was gnawing on one of his new "indestructible" bones. He didn't notice me coming towards him, didn't manage to get under the bed like he usually does when he has something he shouldn't. Then I saw what he had....I screeched "Caillou,you little b@$+@£♧!" , he paused and gave me a very stinky side eye.Overall the journal survived. It appears he was trying to get the stone or latch off but failed. I must admit it is a great journal, it is very well made. Caillou managed a few small rips but he didn't destroy it. It seems to be especially tasty leather too.

I originally purchased this from a different listing that was $2 cheaper, not realizing the other listing was a knockoff and this one was the original.After buying the original vs. the knockoff, I can promise you: saving $2 is not worth it.The difference in quality is astronomical. The one purchased from this listing is absolutely beautiful, better than even the picture gives credit for. The craftsmanship is outstanding, with painstaking care put into every small, exacting detail, from the cut of the cover to the embossing and decorative lacing. The leather stain is rich and gorgeous. The lapis lazuli set into it is lustrous and smooth. The stitching is neat, even, and secure. The paper is well-crafted, heavy, stitched nicely into the binding. Overall the entire journal feels wonderful in the hand, with a nice heft. The way the binding is done in parts makes it very easy to lay the pages flat to write no matter where in the journal you are.It was also very meticulously packaged, with tape and/or foam over any parts that might scratch or damage other bits in transit to ensure it arrived in perfect condition.This is worth the extra couple of bucks for the original vs. the knockoff. Make sure, if you're buying one of these journals among multiple identical listings, that you're getting it from Rustic Town and nowhere else.

I was searching for a nice journal to document my journey since my cancer diagnosis in December. I looked at many journals and wanted something that resonated with me and not just a boring simple journal. I kept coming back to this one over and over again! When the package arrived, I was very pleased with the size, craftsmanship, quality and vintage look. It reminded me of something I would want my great grandchildren to find in my attic one day! Lol I also appreciated the kind note left by the owner as well! This would make a great gift, especially for someone who journals often and is a book lover like I am! I love supporting artisans especially since I have many friends and family members who are artist. I highly recommend this product!

This is a great size for carrying along for art work & the carry bag makes it easy to keep a couple drawing pencils with it.

A really nice journal / notebook.Mine is the exact size promised and it is a tidy little notebook. All the stitching and embossing is really nicely done; very neat and well finished. The metal clasp looks and feels great. Mine came a little darker coloured than the listing but that actually suits me and minor variations are just a result of a genuine natural leather product.The paper inside is quite thick and looks like good quality - although I am not in a position to judge this much. It certainly looks great and there is quite a lot in there. This makes the item a bit thick & bulky. But in a good way - it fits with the grimoire feel and adds to the aesthetic.The item came with a lovely letter detailing the natural, handcrafted nature of the product, and some care instructions to keep it looking nice. The letter is really nice and adds a lovely personal touch to the purchase.I bought this as a display piece for my office and I am very pleased with it. Although I do feel a little guilty; it feels like this should be used and loved instead of displayed. Maybe I will.I am so pleased with the product and I am planning to buy more of these as presents for some of my more artsy / crafty friends and family. This year is going to be the year of the journal!
