Heartwarming
In this fourth book in the Winterville series, we find out what really happened when Alaska went missing as a child. Alaska has her work cut out for her, breaking down Mason’s walls, but it’s clear to see that they were made for each other. Each of them battling their own insecurities and afraid to fall in love, but somehow, miraculously it happens. The small mountain town of Wintersville makes an idyllic backdrop for Alaska and Mason’s developing relationship and some wonderful new characters are introduced. The story is rich in emotions and a joy to read.

Wonderful Winter Romance
I am loving this series set around Winterville and Alaska and Mason's story is a real winner. This book explores what actually happened when Alaska went missing as a child and the whole grumpy/sunshine vibe of the lead characters is well done. I love Preach as a character too and hope to see more of him in later books.

Small town romance!
The latest installment of the Winterville series. I must say, apart from book 1 being my favourite, this is my second favourite of the series. Mason Parker is a man of mystery. A man of few words. But underneath all of that there's a kind, considerate, passionate man, that just wants the best for his loved ones. In my opinion Mason is one of the strongest characters of this series, and he isn't a Winter. I liked this story. I liked that Alaska got her life on track, met Mason, and got a lot of answers to her past.A definite must read if you like contemporary romance.

Alaska and Mason 3.5 *
It was a good read with a solid plot, I guess. But nothing really interesting. To be honest, I found it a bit strange tgat her family kept treating her like a fragile person that needs yo be rescue all the time because she got lost when she was little and was missing for 2 days. She had been safe, healthy and unharmed in every way so to me it was odd.I did like Alaska. She was a fighter and such a great person and so was Mason tgat had went through so much when was a child.I also loved Ty and Preach. They were great characters. Highly recommended

Lovely Winter romance.
I loved the book. My favourite Winterville novel yet and I loved the others. Mason is not just depressingly grumpy against Alaska’s positive outlook and glass half full attitude, he’s also worried about his brother. Add a mystery about Alaska to the mix and the undeniable attraction between Mason and Alaska and you have a great read. Read it quickly first and then again as I wanted the loving atmosphere (of the cousins and sister as well as the romance) to last longer. I then ordered it in paperback for the next signing I can go to where Carrie will be too. (Got the others signed in Edinburgh).

A lovely Christmassy read.
This was the 4th winterville book but it could easily be read without reading the others first. Winterville is a place that sleeps, eats and breathes christmas. In this instalment we meet Alaska properly. Alaska is one of those people who is just warm and lovely, no matter what. She is a kind and genuine person who you can't help but instantly warm to. She had something happen to her when she was a child and we hear about it a lot in the previous books and that's why her family are the way they are with her.Mason was quite a difficult character to like at first. He is the complete polar opposite of Alaska. But underneath all that grumpiness there is someone with a huge heart that will do anything to help anyone. He comes to Winterville, giving up everything, to help his brother make a fresh start and get through school with an education as it wasn't happening where they were.Their story and how it comes together was so lovely and the banter between Mason and Alaska had me chuckling away whilst I was reading. I also loved the side characters here, Ty is a typical teenager but also had moments of maturity and moments between him and Mason, you couldn't help but smile at. I also loved the addition of Preach and had a feeling that potentially there is a story there, fingers crossed that happens soon. I was really getting into what happened to Alaska, I kept reading to find out what really happened do her and get some answers as the previous books hinted at something big happened. When we eventually found out about the situation, I felt it was a little anti climatic. When you focus on the rest of the story though this more than makes up for it.This book is like a warm Christmas hug, full of hope, happiness and a little bit of Christmas cheer. Grab yourself a hot drink, blanket, and snuggle down and lose yourself in Winterville for a while.

A love story which will warm your heart
Another beautifully written story and wonderful addition to what has become one of my favourite series by Carrie Elks. Mason and Alaska’s story will warm your heart. They are so perfect together. They have a bond which is very special and questions you may have had relating to Alaska will be answered. Loved it! Looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series!

Cute Small Town Winter Read
This was a super cute read. Alaska and Masons story is a classic Grumpy X Sunshine. I absolutely loved the chemistry between the characters. Even the side characters were amazing. Sure there were some super cringy/cheesy moments but I loved them. Overall this is a cute holiday read ❤️

Mason & Alaska
The characters were likable I had a few good laughs here and there. There is one open door "spice" scene the rest are closed door or fade aways. So this book really isn't spicy at all which was disappointing. Also the connection between Mason & Alaska past when they were kids felt forced like there needed to be a reason for Mason to feel like he had to take care of Alaska. I won't be reading any of the other couple's stories cause it just not for me I like a lot of spice in my small town romance.

Alaska's missing memory
The missing link to her disappearance when she was eight had never been uncovered. Could Mason hold the key to the mystery? They were growing closer and she was falling hard. Could they ever get together for an HEA?

Everything you want & expect in the greatest way!
4.5! I enjoyed this so much! I love the writing style and the way it is a story all comes together. We only reason it’s not getting full 5 stars it’s because I couldn’t get behind some of the plot of the book. The idea of both of them being “survivors” it’s nice but I think the dynamic between the two and the reasons why they would be considered “survivors” is very different and it felt like Alaska’s reason was reaching. BUT, again, this is a personal take on these instances and besides that I really did love it and highly recommend it! Great holiday read!
