We’ve integrated it with our usual music apps as well as our Philips Hue lights, and everything works smoothly without any issues. The speaker quality itself is also good, with clear sound and more volume than you’d expect for its size. We’re still getting used to some of the Kids Alexa features, but so far we’ve been impressed. I also like the light ring that comes on when Alexa is listening or responding. A one-year Kids+ subscription was included, which is a nice bonus. The only downside was the setup, which was a little more complicated than I expected. Another issue is switching between Kids Mode and the regular mode. Once Kids Mode is enabled, your child can only access child-friendly content and won't be able to play music or use content intended for adults. I tried several times to find a way to combine both modes, but couldn't get it to work. Another slight disappointment is that when I asked Alexa to play certain songs, it often required a paid music subscription. Ah, the world of subscriptions! Overall, though, the Echo Dot Kids is a fantastic smart speaker for children. It's fun, educational, easy to use once it's set up, and I would definitely recommend it.

This is the usual very high quality product that to can expect from Amazon. The design of the owl on the Alexa is perfect and makes it look amazing. Connection and set up through the Alexa app is super easy and with the Alexa parental controls it makes it very safe to use. Volume and sound quality with the spatial sound is amazing. Music is very clear and well balanced, audio storytelling is fantastic together with the usual Alexa fun. The voice response and recognition is superb the touch responsiveness. While it can seem a bit pricey it is great value when you’re given a free subscription to Amazon kids. We already had this so we’re given a refund through Amazon. This was already taken care of from Amazon. Overall the functionality and care that Amazon has is why we have used Amazon for many years.

We purchased this for our neurodiverse daughter along with the projector lights. Alexa does breathing exercises, listens to ambiance sounds, Alexa asked distracting questions, it has been a massive help in creating a sensory input environment for her. Our daughter is only young so we have Amazon kids on it so she can still request sponge, talk etc however there are restrictions on it which is a brilliant feature. The sound quality is brilliant. We are very impressed and have just ordered another one.
