Time to escape: Less than 10 minutes
If you have a dog that doesn't really need a leash, this is a simple, comfortable option for complying with leash laws. And, when my dog was directly in front of me, it worked great. I even liked the way it adjusts itself in response to movement, and I was genuinely excited to have bought it... For about 10 minutes.Unfortunately, about 10 minutes into our very first walk with this harness, my boy ran around a tree, tightened the harness for a moment, and then instantly shrugged free of it and took off exhilarating in his sudden freedom. We were in the woods behind my house, so I just watched him tear around like a crazy wild thing for a few minutes trying not to be afraid he'd go too far while hoping desperately that the deer we'd startled moments before didn't make a new appearance and inspire him to give chase. They didn't, and I simply waited until he'd run himself breathless before calling out that I was getting a treat now and walking home. He came back readily, streaking into the house like a miniature lion after its prey, and all is well. The harness, though, was in my hand, not on my dog. And now it's on its way back to Amazon, because I don't want to think about how my beloved pup's adventure might have ended had he first worn the harness to check the mailbox next to the highway.

Adjustable to fit even the tiniest of dogs
I’m so glad I found another one of these leashes. When I adopted my min pin, the previous owner gave us this harness. Seven years later, it’s still the only harness we use for her. Meanwhile, my chihuahua has gone through five or six different harnesses and none of them fit him right. We could never find one like this in stores.A few months ago, I spent some time tracking down the manufacturer of our min pin’s harness and found this. They both wear the smallest size, but I did need to make some adjustments to fit my 5 pound chihuahua. I simply trimmed off an inch of the “sleeve” that goes around the chest bar and adjusted the metal bits to fit the neck opening and back bar. If you take a minute to understand the mechanics of this harness, you’ll realize it’s completely adjustable to fit any dog. Plus, it’s great to know that they last for years and years.

Perfect harness for my anxious dog who is afraid of "snapping" clasps
I have a very anxious dog who is fearful of many things. He is a rescue dog and who knows what his history was - if he was abused or simply not socialized. Anything new is a source of anxiety for him. So introducing new gear is often a chore. I have tried many no-pull products. A Gentle Leader harness had been introduced to him by his foster family, so he wasn't afraid of that. But the nose strap bothered him so much, so I decided to find something different. Next up I tried a no-pull halter. The problem with that was the sound of the snapping clasp. He would shake with fear that it was problematic, and desensitizing him to it would take too much time.I searched for a long time to find some kind of harness that was one-piece and wouldn't have any snapping clasps to scare him. That's when I came across this harness and decided to give it a try. It arrived today and we took it out on our daily 3 mile walk. Cozmo has never been a huge puller, but even a little tug by a 56 lb. muscular Am Staff can be a problem in the winter on snow and ice. I didn't notice an immediate stop to pulling, but it was reduced by half I would guess. Enough to make the benefit of a one-piece halter with no snapping clasp worthwhile, and a fair trade-off to a complete stoppage of the pulling. If you are looking for a no-pull solution, this may not do the trick. But it certainly seems to be a vastly superior product in terms of its comfort for the dog, and it does provide a certain degree of no-pull effect. If you need a one-piece harness with no clasps or fasteners, then I HIGHLY recommend this product. One note in response to many other reviews about this harness being difficult to put on your dog -- I got the harness on with no problems after looking at their diagram. The parts of the harness come with tags so you can match the harness part to the diagram when using it for the first time. If you are a person that has trouble with "spatial reasoning" (in other words, manipulating an object in your mind, turning it this way and that to reorient it), you might have trouble initially. Once you understand the mechanics of how this harness works, it should be simple to understand.
