This is great shampoo for colored red hair. However, if consistency changes over time, according to research, it's time to change it. It will go bad if you don't use it regularly and you will know because the consistency will become thin. Should be a thick formula.

I wouldn't buy this online just go to Sally's more trustworthy then ordering it, I'm questioning the bottles I got today but I do like the products just won't buy it online like I said.

Any one of the Ion product line is well worth the money.(Original Post 11-14-2011)I am on my 3rd month of using this shampoo. I have thick, slightly wavy, and somewhat coarse hair that can be frizzy. My hair is also about 15-20% grey. This shampoo and conditioner have been great. My hair is soft, shiny, and healthy looking with body even after coloring it. I do still have to use some heat (flat iron) to straighten the frizzes on very humid days, but nothing like prior to using this product. I also use the semi-permanent color by the same company (reviewing it soon). I have not used the items separately to see if I get the same results, but the combination has been beyond my expectations. Where other expensive salon shampoos and conditoners have failed, this has excelled. It smells great too.(Update: 4-21-2014)After using this product for over a year, it stopped working as well. It also became more difficult to pump; I'm guessing the formula was changed to be thicker. I have since switched to Ion Keratin Smoothing Shampoo and the Conditioner. It works very well by itself, but I still needed a little something extra to get completely smooth hair. I've added Aquage Straightening Ultragel to my regemine and this combination seems to be perfect for frizz free hair.
