Cartooning For Kids

I bought this cartooning book for my 8 year old daughter, who loves to draw.She was very excited to get this book, which is sturdy and contains pages of step-by-step illustrations on how to draw various characters.Initially, she spent several hours working on drawing the characters that appealed to her the most. Unfortunately, because the characters are all generic by nature, she became bored with drawing them and progressed to drawing images from her favorite TV shows, such as My Little Pony, by drawing freehand copies from images she had.Still, I think the book helped her progress in her drawing ability, but it did not hold her attention for a long period of time.

My youngest grand-daughter started drawing and it was passed on to her. I was surprised at how much she loved & used it at the age of 7. She followed the instructions and drew almost every cartoon in the book in a very short period of time, it's that easy to follow-if you can draw. I don't think it would make an artist out of someone who has no talent (like me, I tried it).

Bought this for my 8 year old daughter since she has taken an interest in drawing and she loves it. The step by step directions are so easy to follow and the book makes it easy to practice free hand drawing. Even I have found the book useful and fun. It gIves different variations of a drawing too. Like it will teach you to draw a full body alligator, then show u how to change the picture by drawing the alligator underwater surrounded by swamp brush. You can even trace the pictures if it's too difficult to freehand. Excellent buy

I gave this to my 9-year-old nephew for Christmas, along with a sketch book and colored pencils. The steps are easy, and he was ready to start drawing immediately. It's one of the best drawing books for kids I've found. I work at our public library, and I'm always looking for good drawing books to recommend for the kids. This one is paperback, so it is great for a personal copy. I also informed my nephew that I might want to borrow it after it isn't so new! It's that awesome!

My daughter's art class was using this book and she too interest in it. It teaches step by step techniques. She is 10 and some of the cartoons are a challenge to her, but it keeps her going.

I'm sure my grandson will really have fun with this. I always enjoy the opportunity to buy from Goodwill so I can support their much needed programs !!.

I am the least talented artist ever. This book showed me that in a few easy-to-follow lines, I can draw various animals, people, and expressions. My hat is off to Mike Artell! Yesterday was devoted to the walrus and cat. What fun!

This is a great drawing book for anyone, really, not just kids. Both of my boys enjoy it because their finished product actually looks the way it does in the book! They add "background" -- sometimes realistic and sometimes completely creative and hilarious -- for whatever animal they selected to draw. Good quiet time activity.

Great fun for kids or even adults! It encourages the to use their own imagination but at the same time guides them with the basic principles of drawing cartoons. Highly recommend for all ages from 10 onwards

very basic book had scribbles in it so not as good as advertised . did get my money back. thanks
