This book may seem amazing at first, but you quickly realize its nothing more than an instructions list. It fails to actually teach anything, it only gives you a step by step list to complete the current project with absolutely no guidance or help on actually applying what you were to supposedly have learned to a personalized situation. The book is a complete waste with nothing to truly offer as it only teaches how to use a formula in the tutorial's exact situation with no instruction on how to use the formula for your own personalized spreadsheets. The entire text book is simply: "Click this button, now put this in the text box, and hit enter, and look! there is an answer!" No, explanations, no detail on how the formula works, no understanding or learning. Completely terrible book that absolutely fails in instruction.

As a textbook for a class, I found it difficult to use. Finding the pages, the index was a bit of a challenge. The positive is that I can carry it with me where ever I go and can use it still as a resource. However, for me, next time I will buy the book!

The title says it all, it is an intro book, I bought this book for an excel course I did at community college. Exercises are well laid out and explained well. A great book to get started.

Renting the book is the best thing to do. I have amazon prime so it came in two days and its brand new. Love it! It had a cease and I wished it was hard covered.

Trying to learn more tricks int excel but ther is a lot to read. It's pretty clear and easy to read and understand. Good book recommended from a geek friend.

This textbook is GREAT! It is good for beginners and people who are brushing up on their skills. I love the step by step directions in the tutorials. The case problems (do it yourself exercises) are very easy to understand and finding things in the chapter if you need a hint is no problem at all.

I found the tutorials to be somewhat tedious, but the book's explicit instructions throughout the text were quite helpful otherwise.
