Effective blackout solution
This was much easier to install than the static cling alternative and more effective than curtains since it covers the whole window and reflects more light. My picture shows regular blackout curtains on the left and this product on the right - covering the smaller window. Just covering the two small windows in that room helped cool it down a bit.My only problem was not being able to iron out the creases but that didn't affect it anyway since I pulled it right when sticking it to the dots on the wall. It would have been a bit easier to measure precisely if I could have made it totally flat but that didn't seem worth taking off a star, especially since it maybe possible but I was too nervous to increase the heat on my iron past the very low "synthetics" setting.I was impressed by how easy it was to cut without damaging this very thin fabric. It didn't fray at all when I used scissors, exacto knife, or a sliding paper cutter. The dots are very sticky but I was able to reposition the one that I accidentally put on the painted wall in the wrong place (without damage to wall or loss of adhesive power). The Velcro also sticks to each other very tight and seems to be high quality. I have not tried using the other adhesive dots yet.

Works well, if you're not my 2 year old
Definitely blacked out the light, but apparently the light wasn't what wakes my 2 year old up every single dang morning at 5 am. So buy it if you like a dark room- it seems to work well at blocking out all the light- as long as you measure correctly the first time! (Measure twice, cut once...). I mis-measured the first time and there was slight leaking around the sides. You definitely have to over-measure across the window- if you only measure to the edge it won't cover enough to fully block the light. Also the velcro that it comes with kindof sucks- they're circles, and you have to use a bunch to get the fabric sealed sufficiently. ONe of them also lifted off the window frame and wouldn't remain stuck. All in all, it does what it says it will do, which is black out the light from windows. You can size it to whatever window you have, and it comes with a generous amount of material that is easy to cut and hang. If you are purchasing with the expectation that it will allow you a precious extra 20 minutes of sleep at 5 am, you might not want to count those chickens yet.

Impressive Performance with One Minor Drawback
I recently purchased the FADOTY 100% Blackout Blind Curtain from Amazon, and overall, I am quite pleased with its performance. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.Let's start with the positives. This blackout blind curtain does an excellent job of delivering on its advertised promises. It effectively blocks out light and UV rays, creating a dark and peaceful environment in my nursery, bedroom, or dorm room. The quality of the material is impressive, ensuring durability and longevity. However, there is one aspect I wish the manufacturer would consider improving. It would be great if they provided an option for common window sizes to be pre-cut. Having to cut the curtain to fit my specific window dimensions myself was a bit time-consuming and inconvenient. Having pre-cut options would save customers the hassle and ensure a perfect fit right out of the box.Despite this minor drawback, I must emphasize that the blackout blind curtain does its job exceptionally well. It has significantly enhanced the quality of my sleep and helped create a comfortable and serene environment. The ease of installation, along with the portable design, adds to its overall appeal. In conclusion, I highly recommend the FADOTY 100% Blackout Blind Curtain to anyone in need of an effective light-blocking solution. While it would be more convenient to have pre-cut options for common window sizes, the curtain's performance and durability make it a worthwhile investment. Say goodbye to unwanted light and enjoy the peaceful ambiance this curtain provides.Sincerely,Mark

One critical but easily solved flaw keeps it from maxing its niche category.
Not enough hook and loop (generic velcro) dots!I only used about 75% of the material for my 2 windows of concern but this is no using 4 dots just for the corners, especially if you are trying to make it taught and exact to exactly block the light and prevent bleed through on the edges. Covering 2 windows yields 8 dots pairs per window. By the time I got it where it wasn't coming off I had 5 on the top edge. This left 2 to nail down the bottom corners and 1 to try and make a better seal that I put on the bottom middle. I wanted to still be able to selectively access the windows to do passive cooling at night and figured I could inelegantly drop them to hang by the lower edge or the side but given that this just leaves 2 or 3 dots they just come off. So taking it down at night and putting it up in the morning is a pain.It blocks light and a large portion of solar gain very effectively but it is still just short of 100% for light (and obviously for solar gain but but 100% light blocks should be acheivable). If you are trying to sleep during the day it will be visible but the standard curtain interior to this should further help.I know this is the cheapo cut-to-size option and actual blockout curtains for my two windows would have only been 10 dollars more. I went with this instead because hanging curtains leave significant bleed through of light at the edges.Clearly these can't be pre-made in exact sizes for the window for application as shown but they could be made with (a reasonable number of) dots pre-installed or better yet magnets and just be made a little oversized to cover a range of sizes by attaching them interior to the window well or on the wall or whatever which is effectively how cloth curtains can be sold in "standard" sizes. At that point I would consider them comparable to more expensive cloth curtains in quality and they would do better at blocking the light.Measure twice cut once. It's probably unwieldy to cut to size for most windows. My best result was weighting down on top of some card board and using a box cutter slowly. Its good quality material in the sense that it won't tear easily but that makes for a ragged line even with Cutco scissors. The thing you want in the end is an exactly sized product. To loose or tight and it will leave billows or gaps that let more light in.I also expect this will work great in the RV with the left over once I finds some more velcros dots.
