ScullyMen's Long Canvas Jacket

Fits well, buy it small, seams could be cleaner.
It's a nice duster and I'll wear it most of the year in Texas weather, except summers. The seams were off a bit in a few places with some poor attention to detail. Some of the button holes needed to be cleaned up and were frayed. It doesn't stop the use of the duster but over time it will be weak in these areas. The fit was really well but this is because I read in advance to order a size smaller. I'm 6'4" 235 and a large fit really well. The sleeves were a bit short but at my size, almost everything is short. That said the cuffs are folded in and can be unfolded for a bit of fine tuning on the length. The cloth on the cuffs and neck seem off putting at first but they are a little softer than the canvas so it makes for a nice feel making the overall comfort better. It's a single layer so it's lighter than you'd expect. It shouldn't need to be said but if you've never had a duster the split in back goes all the way up to your bum and doesn't close. This is the design and not a flaw, just expect it when you order it. It makes for a good coat for most of the year.

Jacket button on back flap cost me $275.
The jacket fit and look is fine. However, there is a post button on the back saddle flap. When you sit down with the jacket on, this button is right under your butt. I got in my car with the jacket on (a normal thing to do) and the flap post button poked a hole in the leather seat in my car. Will cost $275 to get it fixed. Plus I will now have to go to a tailor to get the button removed and hole sewn shut. You should not have to immediately alter a new piece of clothing in order to make it useful. To me it is an issue when a piece of clothing in absolute normal use, causes serious damage to something else. If you had a boot with a heel nail sticking out, you would be seriously ticked when you walked across your wood floor and it damaged it. Same with this coat.If that button had been a snap button instead of a post, this would not have happened..I'm seriously ticked off.Would not recommend this jacket to anyone because of the liability and potential damage to seats.

Get A Size Smaller
The long coat is well made. There is no interior lining or material for warmth. It is bare canvas on the inside. It only has two pockets. The two outside pockets. No interior pockets. The two outside pockets are large. The jacket ends at about 4 inches above my ankles. When buying, you want to purchase a jacket that is 1 size smaller than your normal jacket size. I am 6'0" and 170lbs. Slim waist and broad shoulders. I purchased the coat in a small. It is not tight on me and still has room underneath for layers underneath. A medium would have fit me like a tent. Way too large. Am I able to wear layers underneath the size small range coat? Is there room? Definitely. Perhaps even a bulky sweater over a lumberjack shirt and thermal undershirt. The sleeves were about 3 inches too long, but I turned up the dark brown cuffs to accommodate the length of the arms. It is not going to fit like a $800 wool business suit that is made with 40 R or 40 L or 40 S and tailor fitted. It is a cowboy range coat.So if you want it to fit to your body contours and not look like something that is way too large for your frame. Consider the size you are purchasing. I purchased the jacket in walnut with dark brown collar and cuffs.

They run a bit large.
I ordered a large and it was too big. I do wear a large size 42 but when I tried it on the sleeves were too long. I sent the Large coat back to Amazon and ordered a medium and it Fits perfect. I'm 5' 8" tall and weights 180lbs to 185lbs with a 42" chest. The large was too large for me. The second order arrived fast too and fit great. I could still wear a second layer of clothes under it.

Bought this for my boyfriend
This is a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. I listened to the reviews and bought a size smaller than I normally would buy for him knowing he would not wear any kind of sweater underneath. So as of now he has not seen it but I know it will be a perfect fit. I tried it on myself and from that I can judge that it will fit him. It's a long coat so make sure to check the length before buying. My boyfriend is 6' 2" so it's going to be a perfect fit.

Excellent quality...sizing is HUGE!
I love it! PAY ATTENTION...I usually wear a size large to extra large and I traded the large back in for a MEDIUM which is still LARGE, LOL! I was wearing an underlayer, plus a tee shirt, a long sleeve flanel shirt AND a hoodie and still could have added a puffy jacket under the MEDIUM sized one (that I kept) so layering here in the mountains is obviously not a problem. The quality of the duster is EXCELLENT...just be aware of the sizing and you will be happy :)

Nice quality but oversized
I routinely buy Scully's canvas suspender pants, the the quality of this cloak is just as good. But be aware that this duster is sized to fit as an overcoat, and is about one size too large to wear alone. I bought the XL based on my chest size, but wish I had bought the L. Unfortunately, because this is a third-party seller, I can't return it without paying postage and a restocking penalty.

Sturdy but a bit distressed with some TLC could be a good coat
So good marks for the strength of the material seems like it will last quite awhile and repel water. What I like most is it is long and I like that it has cuffs that are meant to roll up so I get a perfect fit in my arm length. What is the down side? As others have commented the finishing is a bit sloppy. You will have to trim a lot of extra threads and on the button holes and elsewhere. I need to run a lint brush over the entire coat. Just sloppy stuff. In the ne dafter trimming it, and brushing it it will be a fine sturdy raincoat that should last and is long that runs a few inches above my ankle, which was important to me. If you are also looking for warmth from this, guess again, you will need something underneath and no you cannot add a liner and no it does not come with one. But there is plenty of room to have something on underneath which I think is a plus.
