The Christmas Tree Cottage: A heartwarming feel good romance to fall in love with this winter (The Wishing Wood Treehouse Resort Series Book 3)

Just gorgeous, warm and lovely, a romance with a real touch of Christmas magic
The Wishing Wood – what a totally stunning setting, the tree houses and the sparkling lights, and I’m so glad I chose to visit at Christmas. As I haven’t read the earlier books, I didn’t know about the dynamics of the extended and eclectic family who own it – but as Evergreen found herself wrapped in the warmth of their welcome and embrace, I knew I was going to enjoy every moment of being part of it for a while too.Evergreen arrives at the Wishing Wood, in her caravan home drawn by Clydesdale horse Thunder, to take on the role of Mrs Christmas during their celebrations – and to use her skills as a make-up artist to turn Heath Brookfield into a suitably convincing and jolly Santa. Family life is something she’s not used to – her own life experience has made her wary of letting in anyone she might become fond of – but this one draws her in from the very beginning. And when her dilapidated caravan becomes impossible to live in, she agrees to move into Christmas Tree Cottage for a while – warm and dry, sleeping in a comfortable bed for a change. And she finds herself increasingly drawn to the lovely Heath – until she begins to wonder whether their growing feelings for each other are real, or whether he might just see her as another of the charity cases that he frequently takes on.The chemistry between this couple is exceptional – we see it from both their viewpoints and get to know both of them really well, to take them both to our heart, and as things begin to heat up (to a degree that, for me, was just perfectly judged) I became entirely invested in wanting a happy ending for them both. But if the romance is beautifully handled, so is the family side of things – I never thought I’d want to be part of a Christmas Hullabaloo, but this one was absolutely wonderful. The different relationships are fascinating – had I read the first two books, I might have found getting a handle on them a tad easier, but the author unobtrusively and very quickly brought me up to speed – and, rather unusually for me, I particularly loved the very real and endearing younger family members. And the warmth the whole family radiates throws into sharp relief everything Evergreen has lost – a really emotional story that sometimes moved me to tears, slowly revealed, but with hope that the future might be rather brighter if she’s willing to make the right choices. But the whole book is filled with joy too, with love and warmth and kindness – along with plenty of the loveliest touches of humour, often with the children at its centre. On the Christmassiness scale, this one’s right at the top end – with a touch of real magic at times helping the characters find their way when they’re really in need of a helping hand. So, another author whose future books I really must add to my reading list – this one really was just gorgeous. Do you still have space on your Christmas reading list? If so, this is a book I’d wholeheartedly recommend (oh, go on, spoil yourself – try the whole series!).

A propper love story 💟💟💟💟💟
Read all 3 books in this series , loved all 3, each story is similar 3brothersWho had a love less upbringing, meet the love of their lives,Holly Martin brings all the characters to life makes you feel you know them. One if the things I love about Holly's books is the romance starts quite early and is wonderful to read about, where most other Authors the romance is left to the last few paragraphs then the book ends,The second thing about Hollys stories is the lovely epilogue,Highly recommend 😍😍😍😍😍

A fantastic Christmas read
A fantastic Christmas read.First of all I didn’t know it was book three, so I read it as a standalone, which I think you can do, I do plan to go back though and read book one and two.Evergreen, has been recruited to be Mrs Claus little did she realise how fit and handsome Heath would be, she is enchanted by the forest at once, the tree house, look so magical up in the trees with twinkling fairy lights, and a light dusting of snow. She has never had a home, well she has but that was long ago, now she is content in her little red caravan that her horse pulls, it’s just her and that’s the way she likes it. although her little red caravan is in need of repair she is reluctant to takes up Heath’s offer to fix it.She ends up staying in the Christmas tree house. There she feels for the first time that she’s missing out on the homely things. Like a big bed for instance.Evergreen is a make-up expert and has Heath looking like a jolly fat Santa in no time at all.Heath senses that evergreen is running from something, he wants to help, but he finds he’s falling for her as well. But he has his daughter to consider, still they both can’t resist the pull the other has. This book has everything, love, Christmas, spice (yea I was surprised at that one too, it’s very light) but just right for the book. This had me in the Christmas spirit, it made me feel the magic of Christmas, I really, really enjoyed this one. Like I said I will be going back to read book one and two.

Holly Martin does it again, written a book filled with love and magic
The Christmas Tree Cottage written by the super-talented Holly Martin and narrated perfectly by Penny Andrews for me was another wonderful gift of escapism which Holly Martin has a talent for doing so.In this book, we finally get to know Heath Brookfield, the third brother of the other two Brookfield men who if you have followed the series of books, you already read about.I loved learning about Heath and his past, and the new character Evergreen who we meet along with her Clydesdale horse named Thunder. The story continues from our last visit to the holiday lodges; therefore it was nice to get acquainted once again with the other characters who filled this wonderful series.I am happy once again to recommend this wonderful read, yes it was full of sugar and the storyline was not full of excitement, but it was full of love, belief and a lot of friendship laced with a lot of Christmas sparkle and so much more.If you want a book which feels like you are drinking hot chocolate filled with whipped cream, and marshmallows, this is the book for you.Happy to recommend.

my thoughts
A very easy read. The story line quite charming although the names of the characters were a bit grating and unbelievable. On the whole a nice book with a happy ending but the sex element was more detailed than I required. Maybe I’m old fashioned.

Christmas love!
I loved this story set in a Christmas cottage. Heath and Evergreen's romance was so sweet. He helped her through her sadness and pain to love again. He gave her the family and home that she needed. This was a sweet story of how you can overcome a pain ful past to love and live again.

Lovely read about family and being loved. Trusting your heart enough to give it to someone else no matter how unlovable you think you are. Great characters and a lovely setting I wish I could visit!!!
