Love 'em, but they shrink and shrink
I wear almost exclusively Nautica polo shirts. Every day. I have half a dozen I will rotate through during the week, wash them over the weekend, and then wear them again the next week. My wardrobe is small and simple. I love the idea of these Nautica polo shirts... they're comfortable, stylish, durable, and cheaper than other name brand polo shirts like Ralph Lauren. But I have one major complaint: they shrink. And shrink. This is probably where you're saying "cold water, you twit". A step ahead of you, my friend. I wash them only in cold water, and dry them on the low heat/delicate setting. I'm doing all I can short of hand washing and line drying them.I still order these shirts for myself all the time, but it's gotten to the point where I intentionally buy them one size too large. Trying them on fresh out of the bag (before washing them) - they are as you'd expect - too large. A single wash shrinks them down to about the size where I want them. But they keep on shrinking through subsequent washes, until they're almost too tight. It gets to be an expensive proposition when you have to consistently replace them because they shrink so much.

Fantastic shirts for the overwight, striving to look their best!
I am thirty years old and currently overweight (6' and 250 lbs) and shopping for clothes is usually an awful endeavor. I tried these shirts on a whim though, and now they are the only collared (polo type) shirts I will wear. They look fantastic. They are wide enough on the chest and hang well, and the arms of the shirt are a bit snug so it makes me look buff. The shirts breathe very well, but they're also made a bit thicker so they hide a lot of the imperfections and the fat rolls and such, heh heh. These shirts come in so many colors, which is great, but unfortunately, most of the colors are throw aways. I prefer solid colors, myself, so I purchased the red and the black. Love them.

Sizes between colors vary.
I ordered 3 of these in 3 colors all in XL. Black, Navy Blue, and Red. All shrunk terribly after washing. The Black and Blue shrunk to the point I believe they are mislabeled. The black fits me as if its a medium and the blue is more like a large, though with each wash they both seem to be shrinking more and more. Seems like some kind of bad knock off with how much variation there is between colors.

This may help you chose your size.
I really like the shirt. I think it is a pique or waffle style shirt. Not that brushed cotton soft material, but a little sturdier kind of thick mesh. Light enough to wear a white Nautica undershirt, don't forget your 3 pack of undershirts by Nautica. I also buy Medium in those , but since they are 100 % cotton I don't dry those totally. 'm 6' 170 lbs with slim, partially muscular build. i chose a medium because it's not 100% cotton and won't be dried to prevent any shrinking. For me, it's a perfect fit. Length approximately 27 in. and chest approximately 22 in pit to pit. It hangs just above the bottom of my bottom in back and about two inches below my waist or belt. It is not tight at the chest with just enough room to be comfortable for me. If you like a wider shirt and like shirts to be long enough to be tucked in, I'd go with a large. Also if you buy an all cotton shirt and dey your clothes to completion, you may want to consider a large. Don't judge the fit until washed as I have read, they can shrink up to almost one whole size. I hope my review helps you make your decision. Best to measure one of your favorite shirts and compare the chest and length. my I bought one at T J Max or I would have made the mistake of ordering large and would jabe to have sent it back.

Well constructed polo
I had been looking for a polo in a light yellow for some time; this was the perfect match. In the chest and waist, the shirt fits well. I have a 42 chest and bought the large, and it's perfect in the chest. My only issue is the length. I have a longer torso, so longer shirt length is what I look for. This should fit well for those with a normal torso length, but it's about two inches short for me. It tucks in well and looks good while worn, but if I do any bending or reaching, the bottom of the shirt pops out from my belt line. This is about an inch shorter than my average polo and about three inches shorter than my longest one. Two more inches in length would make this the perfect shirt.Overall a very good polo. Good material, good color choices, and well built.

Substituted Non-Wicking cheaper version: Be Careful!
BE CAREFUL: I ordered and paid $38.48 for a Nautica Performance Deck Shirt (Moisture-Wicking 62% Cotton/38% Polyester). Received cheaper $29.95 100% Cotton version. As others have commented: The 100% Cotton version has a label "Made in Vietnam," the higher-quality, Moisture-Wicking version has a label "Made in China." I will re-order & try again and update if necessary.

feels and looks great but follow care instructions!
my husband is a big nautica polo lover bc he feels the threads hold together better, thus lasting longer. it does look nice but it's important to wash separately in cold and air dry. i accidentally washed and dried it with regular colors and it shrunk significantly! it is still wearable but one more mistake like that one and it may be too short to wear. for the price, i wish it wasn't so easy to ruin but thus is life.

best value
for years I have been buying Lands End supima cotton their top polo shirt but after a few washes you can start telling the difference They just start fading they don't handle the stains but I love their polo shirts so I just kept buying Lanza and I just started buying the Nautica Polo it's incredible incredible color credible softness and it washes incredibly well for 25 $30 a shirt you cannot go wrong

Great fit and smart look
I have had a nautica polo shirt before from a high street store that now no longer stocks Nautica. It never needed ironing and the material is not stomach clinging, which makes me look a tad silly. I bought the navy colour on here and it looks great. Yet again the XL is a perfect fit and not clingy unlike some other upmarket brands. The first one I bought never shrunk in the wash. I'd buy another too, if I were to see a good deal of course.
